   Ordered from The Saffron Restaurant in Kilmacolm tonight and unfortunately it was a let-down. I placed my order at 7:00pm with an estimated delivery time of 45 minutes. The food didn’t arrive until 8:40pm — and when it finally did, everything was stone cold. I ordered the Garlic Chilli Chicken Curry, Garlic Naan and Chicken Tikka Kebab. Hard to comment on the actual flavours because the temperature completely ruined the meal. Really disappointed, especially given how much I’ve enjoyed them in the past. Hopefully this was a one-off, but tonight’s experience was genuinely poor.

   Really disappointed with our order. Fish pakora were tiny and batter was soggy, samosas didn’t seem homemade, but lacked any seasoning, chicken tikka was not cooked tandoori, chasni sauce was water-thin and far too sweet. £50 on 2 starters, 2 curries, a rice and a naan for sub par food and tiny portions. Takeaway so can’t score atmosphere. Only positive was the great service over the phone and it was delivered within the timeframe specified.

   This was one of the best Indian meals I’ve ever had. The food was amazing - each dish thoroughly enjoyed by everyone at the table. The atmosphere in the restaurant was lovely, as were the polite and friendly staff. Will definitely be back again! Highly recommend if you’re looking for somewhere to eat in Kilmacolm

   Looking for authentic Indian food? Then Saffron is a must-try! Nestled in a charming little village, the drive is absolutely worth it. Their lamb chops are perfectly cooked and sooo flavorful! And the prawn curry paired with garlic and coriander naan is truly exceptional. A delightful culinary experience!

   Having just moved to the village we were looking for somewhere to sit in and eat late in the evening. We bumped into a local who recommended the restaurant at The Saffron. We arrived near on 9pm on a Thursday night and were welcomed into the restaurant with no questions! The service was attentive and the food was delish! This meal was authentic, freshly cooked and a real delight. The fish starter was delicious and the lamb meat for the main was tender and of a high quality. There is no doubt in our mind we will be back to experience this restaurant again.

   I'd heard such good things about the takeaway from Saffron, looked forward to trying it tonight, and in the end was so disappointed with the food! I've given 2 stars because my son and partner felt their lamb and chicken dishes were edible at least. I had a vegetable kadahi- it was dry, had a powdery texture and the vegetables were so undercooked they were almost raw. After a few bites I threw it in the bin. Will not be back.

   Wonderful place with great ambience. Food is so yummy and mouth watering that we weren't able to stop. Had hot Indian food after so many days. We ve ordered Dal tadka and kadhai paneer and it was really good. Nice place to have Indian food.

   We have been using the guys at Saffron for many year but having moved village, we haven’t been for a while. We picked up a Tandoori Mixed grill last night and we were blown away by the favours. Even the chips were superb and chips don’t like travelling! Proper cuisine. The sit in is outstanding also, the Monkfish curry has always been a lasting memory for me. Give it a try, it’s worth the travelling or phone call!
