    Total waste of time. I drove 20 minutes to pick up my order, only to find out they don’t take card or Apple Pay — cash only. It’s 2025 — how does a business still not accept digital payments? To make it worse, they never mentioned this over the phone when I placed the order, and the owner was rude when I brought it up. I left without my food. Definitely not going back.

    First time I have been disappointed with the food. Special chow main , no prawns, very dry meat and a thick tar like sauce dumped on top. Chow mains used to taste fresh with a crunch to the veg and the sauce thin and mixed through. What's happened?

    Ordered from here as my regular takeaway (Friendly’s) in Dalkeith was closed. Got the same as I order there. Lemon chicken, chips and mini veggie spring rolls. I ended up ringing in for my delivery, as their website isn’t very user friendly. The guy on the phone was nice and understood when I accidently gave him the wrong postcode lol. The spring rolls were tasty, large portion of them with chilli sauce. They had been delivered in a foil tray with lid so were a little soggy, but still nice. The chips were standard chips from the Chinese and were still nice, again a little cold but this standard when getting Chinese delivery. Lemon chicken had a lovely sauce, tangy and not too sweet, but the chicken itself was a bit tough. Prices were good, couple of pounds more expensive than Friendly’s, however that’s because they do a deal there whereas at Jade Garden I ordered everything separately. Not sure if JG does the same, I didn’t ask and didn’t receive a menu in my takeaway bag to check. Overall I’d order again if Friendly’s was shut, as the food was good, however I think Friendly’s just pips it to the post for me.

    There has obviously been a change of staff since my last visit. It used to be quite a pleasant culinary experience. Of the 3 dishes I ordered, 2 were cooked(?) In the same dark glutinous sauce. It's the first time I've ever had a special fried rice prepared in the same sauce as the Chow Mein. The rice was just a black gloopy congealed disaster topped with unidentifiable slivers of tough meat. The less said about the chicken chop suey the better. Putrid, rank garbage. Avoid like the plague.

    most magnificent chinese i've ever delected upon, out of all the chinese ive been to this place has a special place in my heart, their specialty of salt and chilli chips with batter just hits the spot feeling like im in the womb again, absolutely insane i have no words except from wallah this is gas, 10/10 will be back

    everytime we get food something is always wrong and the staff try to say its not there fault wouldnt mind if it was once as its understandable but everytime we have tried here its the same were talking arounf 10 different occasions and when there in the wrong they say we never ordered even though we correct them when ordering wouldnt even waste my breathe arguing with them anymore vile service......

    Good food, good prices. Phoning up for a delivery/collection is okay although if you cannot pronounce what you are ordering, it is very difficult to simply say a number from the menu.

    I live in woodburn so as most Will know the Woodburn house ( previous name of jade garden) was the most awful Chinese I'd ever experienced ,I was worried that a name change might not mean a staff/standard change, Listening to neighbours I grabbed the bull by the horns went to jade garden Saturday 3 December 2022 Got the buffet menu for one £9.50 ( I live on my own) I ordered Spring rolls, chicken and green peppers with black bean sauce ,fried rice with free prawn crackers Food excellent, food hot, portion size perfect Service polite and quick Shop was busy And yes I'll be back
