Andy (Captain Beaky) was the perfect host & guide taking us from Marlow Lock, back to The Bounty at Bourne End. We discovered the history behind some of the riverbank properties and landmarks, peppered with some local knowledge and stories. Easy to book on the harbour tours website. Would definitely use again. Booked a last minute boat trip as the sun was shining, stepped on board with our bottle of wine and snacks for lunch on the river, lovely little trip, captain was so informative, learnt lots of new things along the way and saw wildlife i had not seen before, would deffo recommend and will deffo be booking again in the future
How lovely to be able to take a boat ride from Bourne End again! Very nice boat trip along a beautiful stretch of the Thames. Andy was very welcoming, entertaining and informative, the trip was great fun and very reasonably priced. I enjoyed it so much I have booked another trip with 4 friends!
This is a superb way to spend an afternoon, day, or 30 minutes. 4 of us (plus 2 dogs) caught this gorgeous water taxi from Bourne End Marina to Marlow. The Captain was friendly, professional, and very welcoming. You can easily pre-book your time for the excursion online and arrive 10 minutes beforehand. Dogs (on short leads) are permitted on board. 'Captain Beaky' ensures all safety measures are covered before you get going, There's a canopy to protect you from the sun or rain. As we headed towards Marlow, we listened to the facts about some of the impressive properties along the river. It was such a relaxing excursion. Entering and exiting the boat is relatively easy as there's a ramp. Although it would probably be worth contacting Harbourtours for more advice if you have mobility issues. We paid £8pp which was a reasonable price considering the method of transport, beautiful views, comfort, and interest. The boat can be hired for parties or longer trips. I contacted Andy to arrange a fun boat trip for my birthday and my friends. Andy was quick with the email and booking information and confirmed again a few days beforehand. We met him at Bourne End marina and had a lovely couple of hours first going to Marlow Lock, over to Cookham Lock and then back to the marina. Andy was great at pointing out all the houses owned by the rich and famous (or infamous), any tales from other boats and people and did his best to point out wildlife along the way. He even stopped to let one of our passengers off early who needed to get back. It was an absolutely perfect afternoon. All my friends were delighted and several of us plan on booking Captain Beaky again - highly recommended from all of us!
Wonderful trip down the river from Bourne End! Andy is a fab captain, so knowledgeable and really goes the extra mile making the trip really interesting for both adults and kids. Highly recommend doing this and seeing the riverside from a different perspective.
Such a lovely trip up the Thames from Bourne end marina to Marlow and back. Andy is really friendly and knowledgeable about the area. We will definitely go out again when it gets a bit warmer.
Had a lovely trip around Chichester Harbour. Rang and booked on the spur of the moment, Andy was great and took us out. Lots of beautiful houses and wildlife and Andy made the trip interesting with all his knowledge of the area. Good value for money.
What a great find. Fantastic skipper who made the whole trip fascinating on a small personal trip. Not piled in a large tourist boat meant genuine involvement and questions answered. We took a Chichester Harbour Tour and it was excellent Why not support the smaller business and really get a great trip
We had a great time on Captain Beaky, and Andy was extremely helpful and knowledgeable on the local area. The boat is comfortable and practical, with a roof covering to.keep passengers protected from the extremes of the weather. We would recommend talking with Andy to discuss your plans for the trip, and we will definitely be keen to have a return visit with family and friends.
