We booked Christmas Lunch back in October and today had the most amazing experience upon arrival. We were greeted with a welcome drink. The atmosphere was amazing. The decor was beautiful. The staff were fantastic. The food was amazing. The portions were very generous. The presentation was faultless and the effort that everybody went to was faultless. Would highly recommend. Hospitality is a very difficult profession to operate within, this establishment has it down to a tee. Long may their success continue.

The rose and crown is one of the nicest pubs in the area. Today, my family and I enjoyed a Christmas dinner at the pub. The staff were friendly, and attentive, offering us a welcome drink and always making sure that everything was okay. The portions were very generous, and the food was absolutely brilliant. The atmosphere was so lovely and I would definitely recommend a visit.

We stayed here for one night and were absolutely delighted with every aspect of our visit. Upon arrival, we were helped with carrying our cases up the stairs. The bedroom was spotlessly clean and decorated in good taste. A huge mirror on the wall made it feel light and bright. In the bar, we were again made very welcome. The bar was full of locals, all in good humour and the sounds of many happy conversations. We had an evening meal which was much enjoyed. The serving staff were all very friendly, helpful and polite. A real asset to the pub. Breakfast the following morning was the best we’ve ever encountered. A huge variety of fresh fruits, multiple choices and gluten free catered for. The coffee was Organic and from a local company. It was so good we would love to return next time we are in the area. Thank you everyone for creating and running such an amazing gem, both as a pub and as B & B

Went away for an anniversary aiming to stay somewhere nice and quiet away from busy city life and I think this was spot on. In the evening the pub downstairs had a few of us enjoying drinks and food. I enjoyed the madras from the specials while my wife enjoyed the plant based katsu chicken with rice. Food was really good and felt somewhat homely. It's easy to get used to the ready made warmed up meals of high street pub grub where as this place was clearly made from scratch. Drinks felt a bit pricey but at the same time the staff were so welcoming and lovely that it felt like we were partially paying for that service too. They regularly checked we were ok and that we were happy with our meal. On to our room. A massive soft double bed which I loved feeling snuggled into! The linen smelt lovely to sleep against. All very tidy and well presented, the wife wished we stayed more than one night as it was so comfy in our room. My only slight issue to raise was the regular flickering of lights which seemed to happen in the bathroom, main light and bed side lamps even if it was just one on at a time. In the morning there are breakfast bits available in the lounge. Fruit, cereals and croissants as well as access to teas, coffees and the coffee machine for the latte and cappuccino lovers among us. It would appear that once upon a time toast was available based on the jam and butter in the fridge but self service and now staff meant I was not able to seek a toaster but this is very minor in the grand scheme of things. Would definitely love to come back again one day for an enjoyable nice stay for some time away from busy city life!

Lovely little pub in a sleepy village on the outskirts of Bath. My partner and I stayed for one night and it felt really homely and comfortable. The staff were friendly and attentive and the room was spacious, clean, and cozy. The bed was so comfy too! Highly recommend for anyone visiting the area.

Lovely location and good facilities. Very pleasant decor. Let down by surly service on the day we visited. Small group of walkers denied entrance to the bar and refused menus as we had not booked. Fair enough, recognise most places are currently short staffed but not very professional or likely to encourage a revisit. The menu looked fine and am sure it would have been very pleasant meal if we had the opportunity. Make sure you book.

We stayed at The Rose & Crown late November 2022 for 3 nights. Very impressed with our lovely room and the pub. The room was spacious, very clean, warm, comfortable bed and tasteful decor. We had dinner one evening which was most enjoyable,, of a high standard and presented well. Lovely relaxed feel in the restaurant/pub, very friendly staff that made us feel welcome and a cosy, log fire in a very pretty, quiet village. Would definitely revisit and highly recommend.

Had dinner here. The pub was busy and had a great atmosphere. The bar staff were superb and nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent and plenty . My wife and I had the steak pie which was delicious it was accompanied with a great selection of vegetables and masses of gravey. If your in the area then I can highly recommend The Rose and Crown.
