Very good service from the staff on duty. Food on the menu was tasty. Dogs allowed in bistro.

I booked for 4 of us as the Easter menu looked good on line. We arrived and were told no lamb as diners had pre booked! I hadn't been asked to pre book to secure certain foods, we had picked venue based on lamb being served for Easter, we ordered drinks, there was no pinot grigio wine nor any alcohol free wine or fizz. We ordered sides of stuffing and cauliflower cheese alongside our choice of main, it took so long to arrive, most of our dinner had been eaten, in fact we had to ask how much longer they would be! Both chicken roasts were overcooked, chicken rubbery and yorkshire burnt. We then waited for someone to take our dessert order and had to ask to which she replied, I didn't realise you wanted dessert! No-one asked if everything was ok? On the whole we were very disappointed! We had been recommended to visit but not sure we will return.

Wouldnβt eat here again. Weβd heard mixed reviews about the restaurant but decided to give it a go. Firstly they do not have enough seats to accommodate even half the lodges on site which is poor, secondly the wait time for service (once we had waited another day and booked a table a day in advance) was slow considering how little customers there are, and thirdly, the food was unpleasant. The food lacked any real flavour, we both had different meals and desserts, all of which were ready meal standard, not worth the price at all. The presentation of the food was nice but the taste was awful, so bland and processed.

Service from the waiter was amazing as he had so much to do! Shame the food was poor, and most needed to go back or was inedible. Tried eating here on two separate occasions as thought perhaps the first time was just a one off. Returned for a Sunday Roast and the Beef was inedible and could sole your shoes, and the veg was raw. The whole meal was cold and the table of four next to us had the same experience. The venue itself is very picturesque but the cold and poor quality food lets it down massively. We also stayed in minus temperatures yet the wonderful log fire didnβt see a match. Lodges lovely but wouldnβt return here again which is a huge missed opportunity for the site. Please address this and weβd try againβ¦.

My veggie curry was great but my partner 's fish and chips not as good, "fish a bit old" was his comment. Other diners in our party quite happy apparently so choose what you believe!......

Shambles table for 2 food was brought out with 15 mins delay between my meal and my partners. My chicken and bacon was tough as old boots, no exaggeration, my partners gammon and egg was not cooked properly. The lodges onsite are excellent. I cannot recommend the restaurant at all I would like to give 0 stars.

A very nice restaurant set in a beautiful location. The restaurant had a great menu with a wide selection of good food. Friendly staff who were very efficient on a busy Friday night. Food was great and very tasty. Drinks selection was great as well. Highly recommended if you are in the area.
