   Always used this chip shop but since they refurbished food has gone down hill unfortunately bought haddock other week was uncooked batter was awful uncooked had kids to look after or would have took it back chips are not fresh anymore left in the warmer to long sad really been using this shop for years gonna have to find another shop shop to use I think

   The first time I became a regular here was when I was working locally for a few months when I found all the food delicious & very traditional it was 2001, no reviews in those days! Over the years we have stopped here occasionally & the food has always been acceptable but nothing special. Today we had the freshest Clarks Pie heated properly, not microwaved, we've had in years & some fantastic chips, cooked perfect with some proper colour to them, just like the old days!!! Most importantly they also had flavour that reached the spot!!! If this is the norm now we will sure to return soon! Two very satisfied customers.

   Was passing and do called in for chips, they were lush, soft exactly how we like them. A week or so later we drove out our way to get chips here again, sadly it was a completely different experience, the chips were dry and hard and we threw half of them away. If it wasn’t so far I would have taken them back. Real shame.

   I had sausage and chips, the chips were OK but too many for me personally and the batter on my sausage was hardly crispy at all , more soggy. Sausage was ok though. Service was fine and there are lots of specials to try.

   Portions were large. But cost a bit more. But when you see the larger portions it's worth it. Staff were a little slow, but was unsure if they were new. So nothing really to complain about, as everyone has to start sometime and learn.
