Had a roast delivered today from Hillside Bistro and it was really lovely. The meat was absolutely delicious and the vegetables were cooked perfectly. The only small thing was the Yorkshire, stuffing and potatoes arrived a little on the cold side, but everything else was spot on. We still really enjoyed it and will definitely be ordering again. Thank you!

Had a lamb roast dinner delivered last Sunday as i wasn't feeling up to cooking. It was the best roast dinner I've had in a long time. Fluffy roast potatoes, loads of tender lamb, tender veg, yorkshire pudding, stuffing ball, gravy.... just enough for me and mint sauce. I ate every bit and really enjoyed it. Ate my lemon meringue pie til late evening which was so fresh and tasty. Will definitely be ordering again very soon

Waste of time. I placed an order at 12. Waited and watched over 5 different delivery people drive to the restaurant to be turned away. Why accept an order if you refuse to complete it? Terrible service. This is the second time I've had a bad experience. Last time ordered a roast they then took over an hour to let me know they are sold out. I would not recommend this restaurant for ordering. They can't blame Uber as I have photos to prove this. This is on them. Busy or not. This is unacceptable. Ordered at 12noon Cancelled at 14:00 UPDATE: It's a real shame when restaurants lie. I contacted uber myself the same day and they confirmed the order issue was on their end. They accepted the order yet told delivery people they could not complete the order. This wasted multiple delivery people's time and mine. Thank you for the apology, seems insincere when not accepting responsibility.

WOW Ill start with the good and then the bad. Firstly the roasties were spot on, they had flavour and are part of the most important trio of a roast along with the gravy and meat which were AMAZING. Veg was fresh and all together honestly was amazing even being delivered! The bad More gravy it needs way more gravy!

After a night of pre-Birthday carousing, we didn't feel like cooking or going out to eat so we decided on a decadent takeaway, and what a good decision it was too. My partner and I chose the Roast Tender Beef. Tender being the appropriate word, easy to cut and melted away on the tongue-delicious! The veg, roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding and gravy was fresh and warm (brilliantly well packaged in a container covered in tin foil and well delivered by Uber). The portion size was excellent and good value for the price. All in all, tasty, tasty, very very tasty. A new favourite and we will be returning, perhaps an inperson visit or a luxurious takeaway.

Got a takeaway breakfast via Uber in the week and was very very pleasantly surprised. Lovely sausages and everything was cooked to perfection. Decided to take hubby here today to try the food, we had jacket potatoes, the beef chilli was absolutely amazing and the roast dinners that were coming out looked fab too. Proper home cooked food. We had carrot cake and Victoria sponge too which was absolutely lovely!!! We will be back. We were very well looked after.

Update Sun. 6th Nov : Delicious !!! Trad roast chicken Sunday lunch, chief full square meal for the week, stuffing, Yorks pud, french beans, carrots, cabbage and roast pots (for £9). Update Oct. 30th : Further 5 stars! : What a lovely apple pie and custard!!! Many thanks to the amiable chefs / P & team here. The churros sweet had all gone by the time I arrived Sunday lunch, in this open to public bistro restaurant here, though run in Hillside older people's residence. But my disappointment at missing the churros opportunity, gave way quickly to !!: Very happy enjoying !!! Mmmm, very nice thanks!! Earlier review few months back in 2022: Very nice place, serving within an older persons' residential court complex of flats and bungalows. Delicious crumble! I have twice had, and the roasts and more are well recommended by friends known. They serve folk who come in who are non residents of the Hillside community and being a nice Indian family are both keen on cricket, but also curries ! of course. Thursday is curries day. Breakfast served from 9 to 11 and Lunch served from 12 to 2pm I think it is, Sundays too. Can recommend it for a friendly quiet local tasty meal, cuppa and more. Crisps take away drinks and ice cream for sale, also. It seems to be open 9.30 to 4.30 each day it says but from 1030 on a Sunday and but Saturday is Closed all day. Check out the Google page times which seem to be up to date. It is located in Hillside older persons buildings community, at the end of Batten Rd, which is off Hillside Rd, in the Hanham general area, in the triangle between where the Kingswood Rd and the Hanham Rd divide.
