The staff were extremely attentive and very knowledgeable about their products. The store more than met my expectations in terms of shopping experience, and it’s definitely a branch I would love to visit again. Stock availability was excellent, with a wide and well-maintained selection. As a lovely extra touch, they even had a water bowl at the entrance for pets, which I really appreciated.

We had an absolutely terrible experience. I brought my friends with me, and we bought two jackets. The light-haired woman with bangs was extremely rude and unpleasant. The young woman working at the other till was the same. They gave my friend a small pin that was supposed to be complimentary with the purchase, and she simply picked it up to have a look. The staff member said, “You can’t pick it up the pin yet, your payment isn’t completed,” as if she was accusing my friend of trying to steal. It was an awful attitude. We were shocked. We have never experienced such poor service anywhere. By the time we stepped outside, we were literally shaking with anger. All we managed to say was that they were being very rude. I will absolutely never shop at this store again.

Lovely shop — disappointing service. I asked about home delivery, and the staff member immediately assumed I needed overseas shipping because of my accent. He then warned me how “very expensive” it would be, as though he needed to advise me on my own finances. It’s surprising how many incorrect assumptions one person can make in under a minute. For clarity: having an accent doesn’t mean I don’t live here, and affordability isn’t something staff should guess. I ended up ordering online instead, where I didn’t have my nationality or bank balance analysed at the till.

Sam was very helpful and knowledgeable about the Barbour line. He patiently explained the different coat styles, and had a natural knack for sizing. I really appreciated all his help as I was able to find the right Barbour coat.

Went to buy 2 waxed jackets for me and my wife except it didn't work out so we returned the next day to see if we could find something else. On both occasions, we found the service was quite lacklustre and it seemed that the salespeople preferred to talk to each other rather than help customers with useful information to help them buy (never mind be bothered from folding garments that had been tried on rather than show people - and discuss - jackets that would encourage them to make a purchase). Not sure why this anachronistic store can still manage to stay open with such poor customer service. We crossed the street to the North Face to buy 2 jackets from salespeople who were more than happy to help us with our purchase. This store would benefit from taking lessons in proper customer service from the North Face (or from Marks & Spencer and Moss where we encountered nothing but professionalism and warm & friendly service). Avoid if you can and spend your money somewhere else where they know how to treat you with the proper amount of respect and attention as a paying customer.

A nice shop with a great location. Unfortunately, I felt like there wasn’t as many Barbour products on sale as I would of liked. For example, their dog range.

If you are going to buy a woman wax jacket be aware of the sleeves inside as they have a lining that is a non breathable fabric and the cold condensates in drops ( literally ). They can replace the lining but of course you need to pay. At the end, I had to buy a Bedale wax jacket ( male style ). What it is not very professional is that they know this happens but they don't care to inform you when you are buying it or it's not even written in the description/label of the product. First and last time I'm buying here.

Customer service left a lot to be desired especially considering it’s ‘high end’. Staff made comments that were unnecessary and unhelpful even though help was not asked for or needed at that moment. Left a bad taste so refused to buy anything or continue looking. Will go elsewhere. Unless you know exactly what you want or hope for unsolicited comments towards your browsing avoid this place.
