   Just have to say, we recently discovered this place and have really been enjoying the food. We’d avoided it for years since it’s cash only and doesn’t offer delivery, but we gave it a try a couple of months ago and have now been back three or four times. The beef with mushrooms and the chip are both great. It’s still a bit of a hassle to find cash, but this has definitely become our go-to Chinese.

   Lovely service and people working there, however food barely reminds Chinese food. Noodles smells of greasy oil. Probably was fried on the pan which wasn’t cleaned before. Sweet and sour chicken ball - the chickens balls it self weren’t sweat and sour, just deep fried. They came with a sweet and sour souse separately - very misleading. Curry souse was made from the powder. Souse was greasy and thick. Fried rice smells same as the noodles so not so good. This place needs a lot of improvement. Need to be ventilated as well as the odour of burned oil inside is hideous.

   Excellent BEEF CHOW-MAIN & curry sauce with prawn crackers. You can’t beat this local Chinese chippy . Great staff fast service & very popular takeaway restaurant in Hartcliffe & Withywood. There not currently taking card payments at the moment so make sure you take cash yeah . You won’t get better food in this area I travel a long way just to get food from the Red Onion. Awesome food , I give give it 5 stars .

   We popped down today for our first try od the red onions food, we ordered 1x cheesy chips, with curry sauce, and one large chips with a large battered sausage, the chips were very nice, loved the curry sauce and a good amount of cheese on the chips, my partner can be fussy with chip shops battered sausages but he really enjoyed tonights food, will definitly come back again!
