We visited The Olive Shed for my partnerβs birthday, and it was such a lovely experience. Iβd mentioned the occasion when booking, and we were greeted with a complimentary glass of Prosecco, which was a really thoughtful touch. We were mainly drawn in by the organic wine list and the gorgeous view over the harbour which gives you a refreshing perspective compared to the usual Bristol spots. We tried the organic red Rioja and the organic rosΓ© Rioja, both of which were excellent. The menu overall was great, but the standout dish for us was the wild mushrooms (pictured) - absolutely delicious. Service was warm and attentive throughout. A really enjoyable evening and a lovely place for a special occasion for a fabulous price.

Wonderful food. Good portion size and lots of veggie options. Great wine - should have made a note of the name of it as it was amazing! Lovely way to spend an evening

We first tried to visit a couple of weeks ago but ended up leaving after sitting outside for 25 minutes without receiving menus. We decided to give it another go on a Friday night. This time, we were seated quickly and given menus, which was a much better start. When ordering, we tried to flag some dietary requirements, but the waitress mentioned she had a lot to remember and might need to come back. While we completely understand it was a busy evening, it did leave us feeling slightly odd. The food did not meet our expectations. The fries, at Β£7, were a very small portion with just a dusting of chili powder, and the charcuterie board felt more like something pre-packaged from a Tesco. The shin was tough, and the bread, when it eventually arrived, tasted a little stale. Oddly, the bread came after every other dish, and we had to ask for it. We also ordered hummus, which never arrived, but was still on the bill and had to be removed. In general the portions were really overpriced for low quality and quantity. Itβs a lovely location with a lot of potential, but overall, it gave the impression of a spot that may rely on tourist footfall rather than returning customers.

Visited last night on a whim, met with amazing gluten free choices and we shared tapas between 3. Thankyou so much for catering so kindly and knowledge toward Coeliac Disease.

Best tapas in Bristol! My first visit to the Olive Shed and Iβm sad I havenβt gone sooner! The tapas dishes are so tasty. Just got back from a vaca in Spain and I have to say, these tapas are better than some of the finest places I went to in Spain! The duck, grilled fennel, steak, patatas bravas & quinoa salad were my favorites! And Iβm really glad they have many vegan options (including dessert) Lastly, the staff are so friendly & attentive. They made the experience outstanding! I would highly recommend the olive shed and I canβt wait to visit again!

Great place although the portions are a bit small. Amazing food quality and super kind service (especially the French girl but also another French guy and an English guy with blonde hair). We ordered: a croquette, sea bass with beetroot and crispy onion, duck with parsnip and vanilla (no drinks, just tal water). We paid Β£27.85.

I visited the Olive Shed on a warm mid-March evening. I was just in Bristol for one night and don't know the city so was just wandering aimlessly. The dock area has a great vibe, with people casually hanging out and the Olive Shed is right in the middle. I was seated outside, no problem with solo me taking up space. I ordered the calamari which was amongst the best I've had, patstas bravas which was made by someone who knows where the paprika jar is kept and a divine piece of slow cooked lamb with yougurt and pomegranate seeds. Lovely meal, great location and fabulous staff. Very highly recommended.

Lovely riverside restaurant. It was early Saturday evening and we managed to get a table outside. The staff were lovely but unfortunately the service was very slow. The food was taking so long we decided to cancel our order. I am not sure if they had a staff shortage. They asked if we wanted bread and olives instead, which I assumed was to apologise for not having our food. However this was on our bill at the end of the evening, we I questioned it the amount was then removed. From looking the plates seemed on the small side considering the prices. In all though, I would like to give this restaurant another go as the location and staff were all lovely, think we just got them on a busy night :)
