We had the set menu B. Lovely selection of food well presented and large quantities. Very nice. Someone with local knowledge advised me owner has been running it for years.
A lovely friendly restaurant we've used for years. Feels a shame but necessary to make others aware of this... Despite seemingly inclusive with their "vegetarian menu" they fail to mention that majority of these so called "vegetarian" dishes contain fish/ fish oil in them. After many years eating here, not once have they mentioned this until recently. Completely disgraceful to claim having a vegetarian menu whilst using animal products. Not a place for vegetarians
Good location for the restaurant and staff were attentive and friendly but unfortunately the food wasn’t great, it just was okay. I’ve had much better takeout Chinese’s for half the price so we were quite disappointed with what we had.
Hand on heart the best Chinese food we've had in a while! We stopped off here on an early Friday evening, whilst taking my son to a scouts camp in Tintern, I'm so glad we did, as we've found a Gem! Every dish served was hot, fresh and flavoured really well. The portion sizes are perfect for sharing as well as for one person. The staff are very friendly and give you great customer service and make sure everything is to your satisfaction. We've since been back the past 2 Fridays, (driven over from Bristol specifically) and they are definitely CONSISTENT with their good food and friendliness. We've since tried different dishes and haven't had a bad one yet. We will without a doubt continue to come to The Red Lantern!
Beautiful Chinese food to eat in or takeaway. Quality is excellent, owner is really nice, and has a really nice personal touch, such as remembering your name. Thoroughly pleasant dining experience

Really, really good. Yeah, we were all pretty hungry when we arrived, and I'm sure that made the food taste extra delicious, but the truth is that their food is delicious to begin with. Fresh ingredients, skillfully prepared, perfect flavor combinations, reasonable pricing, the license--what's not to love?!? The staff is helpful and accommodating while the restaurant has a nice, quiet yet family-friendly sit-down environment. Great experience at the Red Lantern. Give them a visit!
