We experienced such lovely food and service when we visited The Giggling Squid. All the food tasted delicious. Fragrant, fresh, tasty and delicate Thai favours. Thai food is my favourite and this was the best I’ve experienced. The service was friendly, helpful and swift. I will definitely be booking again. Thank you.
We came to the Giggling Squid restaurant in the evening because we wanted some good Thai food. We were not disappointed. Our starters—Chicken Satay and Spring Rolls—were tasty and perfectly sized. My main course, the Red Prawn Hot Pot, was just the right level of spicy and flavorful—absolutely delicious. My companion’s Red Duck Rising Star was one of the best duck dishes she has ever had. The restaurant is located in a charming area on Princess Victoria Street, close to the famous Clifton Suspension Bridge. It’s easily accessible from the city center by bus, which stops almost right outside. The interior stood out from typical Thai decor in a positive way, although I personally would have preferred slightly dimmer lighting. The food was reasonably priced considering its quality, and the service was quick. This restaurant is definitely worth recommending!
Food is absolutely delicious, the sharer starters are great value and every bit was great. As a table we had the massaman curry, pad thai, red prawn curry and the garlic hake. The massamn and Padthai were delicious both get 10/10. The prawn curry was also delicious. Our only note was the hake was a little on the salty side, but was still very good. We also enjoyed desserts and the food was absolutely delicious, no complaints. The restaurant was busy but had a great vibe and we love the decorations and felt welcome from the staff.
Have been for anniversary meal recently and this was a birthday celebration, fantastic food and service and very attentive staff…. Even handed my wife a birthday card from the team…nice touch…see you soon….the chefs are magicians such amazing flavours
We enjoyed a fine birthday lunch here today. We ordered a selection of individual tapas as well as a couple of their tapas sets. There was a nice selection of traditional Thai favourites on offer. The flavours were good, and portions were ample. We were served promptly and the staff was attentive to special dietary needs. A complimentary birthday pudding was a lovely touch.
We’re surprised on how authentic and tasty this Thai restaurant during our visit to Bristol this time! The quality of the food was superior as they uses many types of aromatics and spices to create these curry paste. The dishes was displayed nicely and served in a decent portion. Great restaurant indeed!
Nice restaurant and amazing service. Food was great. Papaya salad was nice but miss a bit of flavour within the fruit (normal , where are in uk) Spring rolls highly recommended with the sticky fried chicken and sesame ice cream. The pad Thai was really good. The cherry on the top would have been if they had mango sticky rice as dessert. Wine was great but a bit pricey.
Food was good, nice decoration. Friendly staff. We order shrimp pad thai! Will be coming back! They serve food until pretty late! Towards the end they may have turned the heat off and the music was a bit loud. Many gluten free options!
Great service, tasty curry, good menu selection. Portions tad disappointing, three prawns in a bowl of red curry served with rice, the fried chicken wings tad dry. And be nice to have a jug of water to refill after having the rice with only curry sauce and veg and the three prawns.
It's a pleasure from the moment you step in, till you leave. Lovely food & staff, super quick service and great decor. What more do you need! I simply love Thai food and this place makes me keep going back for more.
