   Went for some drinks with some friends fell over large step as you walk in trapped my leg in the door.All the staff & land lady just laughing saying that happens alot & the landlady just saying there is a sign to say mind the step. If it keeps happening then sign not working need to sort it terrible customer service.

   It should be renamed the Poacher. Bar staff who couldn't pull a decent pint if their lives depended on it. The beer tasted awful. When I questioned the size of the head. I was very abruptly told. Be nice and some people like a head on their beer. And I'm a paying customer, who drinks beer and not three-quarters of a pint with a two-inch head on it. So I obviously upset her ego by questioning her ability to pull a pint. That was my initial introduction to the new old mill/poacher. The new layout sucks. No friendly atmosphere. And other regulars were all saying the same. Needless to say. You've ruined my local. Can't be doing with inept bar persons who think they're so good at their job when they're not. All in all not a very nice experience. I for one will be moving somewhere else to find another local. And judging by the comments made by other regulars, they will be doing the same.

   The friendly, proactive, well mannered staff really make this place. Chloe is superb and will go far in life! Food is decent, I recommend the buffalo wings. The atmosphere is hilarious, the Saucy Griller has (suspiciously AI looking) pictures of Gorilla's in suits on the walls. The pub is a lovely old building, the aesthetic inside is surprisingly American. Not bad at all. Worth the overnight stay in Portishead! Would definitely go again.

   Wouldn't go again. Came for lunch, the whole place smells like p*ss but we still ate there lol If you chose to get the beef burger just get it off the kids menu, we chose one kids beef and one off the main menu but they're exactly the same size (albeit the kids is half the price). My husband did say it tasted yum though. Kids chicken burger said it came with American cheesy fries and coleslaw - it did not. No heating on so all kept our coats on to eat.

   Amazing pub, great atmosphere. Great friendly service, amazing staffs. Looking for a place to hang out for a beer or two, then I highly recommend The Old Mill. Visit the secret garden for fun and magic night out. Best pub in Portishead.
