Horrible staff, man at the counter lazy and rude and couldn’t care less about his job and helping people. I knew this pharmacy had a bad reputation but this experience was truly awful. 0 stars if I could

Check the boots prices online before buying from this store! Went in to buy a behind the counter prescription and was overcharged by over £10. When I realised after 2 minutes of leaving the shop they said it was store policy that they couldn’t refund it as I had left the premises. The boots worker who wasn’t the owner then overheard I was overcharged, and asked the owner why they were charging higher prices than online. She managed to pay me back the difference of what I was overcharged for, much to the annoyance of the shop owners.

I have been visiting this pharmacy for around five years, and my recent visit to resolve an issue with my parents delivery reminded me why I keep coming back. The young lady at the front handled everything brilliantly — she’s efficient, polite, and always goes above and beyond to make sure things are sorted properly , which unfortunately isn’t always the case when I’m served by the gentlemen working there. Change of rules are made all the time by him and no solutions given. The pharmacist is also very supportive and attentive. Overall, excellent service from the staff who truly care and take pride in their work.

The bully manager is finally gone, and the staff are so much happier now. In the past, the previous manager talked down to employees, even siding with rude patients, and I even witnessed staff being shouted at — it created a very negative environment. Since the change, things have completely turned around and the difference is clear to see. The pharmacist is excellent and always helpful. I’d definitely recommend coming here now. “Massive improvement in service and atmosphere.

This is the worst Pharmacy on the planet!!! I've changed my review because the waiting time is too long !! Disgraceful!!! I haven't had any problems with the staff they have always been polite . This was my old review:Good efficient service and well stocked . Closes for lunch between 13:30 to 14:30 . Opens at 9 am and closes at 6pm . Closed on Sunday.

If I could give Zero stars I would have , Totally inept, nobody has a clue which is very worrying as they supposedly dispense controlled substances. Not for the first time my wife was told come back in 10 to 15 mins so she did and sorry not ready yet so she went back 1 hr later to be told they were just filling the prescription right then only to be told 20 mins later after she again enquired that the computer was down and they could not dispense any drugs I am a disabled wheelchair user waiting for my wife to collect me in the pooring rain because theese fools can't or won't do there job properly. I Will be making a formal complaint as this is a pattern of repeated behaviour.

Appalling! Boots should be the emblem of our national pharmacy services however this particular store is awful in every way. I truly can’t think of anything positive to say in this review and it honestly pains me as it never used to be so prior to the pandemic. At present they are recruiting 3 staff members, an ongoing issue as in the last months I’ve seen at least 5 individuals start and soon after leave. Because of the situation, staff are moody and rushed, (despite having a 1 hour break during lunch when they close!!) and of course as they are only there a few days they aren’t knowledgeable. The dispensing chemist is generally a‘locum’ joining for a day or at best a few weeks so there’s no customer rapport. I’ve witnessed elderly customers being banned or treated rudely because they don’t understand why their vital medication isn’t ready or hasn’t been ordered. The worst experience was when staff couldn’t enter the store as they weren’t key holders and the manager (or whoever in charge that day) was stuck in traffic not knowing what time they would arrive. December 22-update; I wish I could say Boots Bookham has improved but the situation is actually worse. Two people last week were told their prescriptions had been lost and the customer service I witnessed was appalling!Rude, lacking emphathy and little effort to put things right. When is this store going to be inspected and improved?

I really do my best not to bad mouth any NHS service, and I have had good experiences with this store in the many years they were my nominated pharmacy. It is often the case one needs to “play the system” (it shouldn’t be necessary, but it definitely helps at times). Unfortunately, as someone who receives regular prescriptions, the number of issues I have had with this particular pharmacy is beyond me now. Earlier this year I changed my nominated pharmacy to another local one (who, like many NHS services, is not perfect), and I honestly wish I had done so earlier. I understand that the system is strained to say the least, and that pharmacists and pharmacy staff bear the brunt of this, and like to hope Bookham Boots would be a lot more successful with the right support.

Staff (especially one of the pharmacists) regard work as an socializing opportunity (endless chatter) despite the shop being full of customers. No focus on doing their jobs nor providing professional customer service. Stock stacked up on the floor creating health (especially for senior citizens) and fire hazards obstructing exits (impossible to navigate for mums with buggies). When I politely gave them feedback having sat there for nearly an hour (when I had been told it would be ten minutes) they said “I know” but no apology or even any excuse. Sat there so long I watched a shop lifter which I noted with a member of serving staff but they seemed completely unbothered/disinterested. A complete shambles!

Joined the queue in total silence today. Left after 15 minutes as nothing was happening apart from one customer arguing with staff about lack of medication. There is a problem with this branch as this happens all the time.
