   I went in, first time visiting Glasgow and was having a great time until my teenage daughters told me the shop assistant was following them eagerly to put the shoes they were carrying around behind the till. My girls felt like the shop assistant who was a white woman with glasses had treated them like thieves and racially profiling them and no one else’s things were taken from them. Although my girls asked me not to say anything my husband asked at the tills is this a common practice and she very pompously said yes. I have shopped in river island across England and never had this experience. So if you are a person of colour be mindful whilst going into this store.

   The shop is conveniently placed inside the Buchanan Galleries. The clothes are all very fashionable and trendy. There is also a section with shoes in the back.

   I had a bit of a mare in the Buchanan galleries shop, went in after work on a really hot day in full work gear, looking for a suit and was met with absolutely superb customer service, could not have been more helpful and accomodating. Special thanks to Sophia in this Glasgow store as she helped enormously, even managed to stop me stressing out which is an absolute miracle, spoke to her manager and asked for a review to be posted on her behalf but I'm not sure if he has done it. Even managed to come away spending less than I anticipated. Superb service.

   Went in to exchange a dress that I'd bought two weeks before in the fort branch , however I had no receipt and was spoken to the River island Mafia on the counter like I was a naughty teenager , the item still had the tag attached and perfect condition ,yes I should have kept my receipt but if they are gonna give you the exchange anyway then why go on a power trip about it ,I'm a 40 +woman and don't need to be made to feel small by some stoney faced jobsworth just to give her some sort of feelings of grandeur , I don't need reminded that I should have my receipt ,I already mentioned the fact as soon as I came to the desk, get rid of the self important attitude , people spend a lot of money in your shop and I'm one of them , lots of shops are going out of business so get a blooming smile on and drop the stinking stoney faced attitude .
