Decent smaller gym, not too busy, clean and easy to access. Pool is small, sauna/steam room are good. If you've not been to the gym before, I recommend booking at least one PT session, my first visit/induction consisted if the girl behind reception pointing to where the gym and changing rooms are. I didn't mind as I know my way around a gym, but this could be unsettling for someone who has never been before.

The pool/ spa area is really good although it’s often under repairs and there’s always a kids class on. This doesn’t bother me but I’ve spoken to other members who find it very frustrating. The gym it’s self is okay it has everything you need but there’s no aircon and in summer it’s torture. This really makes the gym an awful place to work out in, which is a shame because it’s an easy fix!

Been using Gym etc for a few years now, used to go to Orrell but as I got a new gym in Lowton, switched to Lowton Gym. Was paying £28.99 for a monthly membership which I thought was a bit steep, £25.00 was a better price when they had it set at that. It then recently increased to £30.99 due to “improved equipment”. Yet there always seems to be equipment out of order. Not to forgot the once a year charge of I think it’s £25.00
There is not enough equipment if you go at peak evening times, always fighting for a spot on something. Due to equipment not working or there not being enough of something. Was in this morning (6.30am) as it is better than going after work, and 2 out of the 3 cable machines were out of order. If your membership increase due to be improved equipment, you’d expect the equipment to actually work.
The gym and female changing rooms are always nice and clean first thing in the morning, can tell the cleaner and staff are putting a good graft in first thing in the morning.
The spa facilities are okay, if you want to go swimming you will need to check timetables and try out a few different times because you can comfortably get 4 people in the pool doing laps(that’s at a push).
Most of the staff are nice and welcoming, usually say good morning and goodbye and can often see people having a good laugh with the staff at the front desk which gives it a nice feel of community.
Good for a local gym if you aren’t going at peak times but the cost is not justified for its standard.

I’ve loved this gym for years because it was my little escape to go and relax and unwind but now it’s just constantly full of kids due to the swimming lessons. Never used to be this bad. Can’t move in the changing rooms and even in the daytime there are family’s in there. This club is not big enough or the right type of club to host so many lessons. You can’t create an ambient, relaxing experience in the spa when you’ve got bunches of kids screaming and running around. I end up more stressed when I leave than when I arrive. Gym equipment is old too. Hope you manage to sort these issues out
