This is the first review I’ve ever written, but my experience at this pharmacy was so upsetting that I felt I had to share it. I waited almost an hour for a simple prescription because they didn’t seem to know who they were partnered with. The staff were extremely kind and understanding, but the pharmacist herself was rude and dismissive from the start. When I politely suggested I was happy to find another way to get my medication, she snapped, “This is not a sweet shop,” and then said, “You don’t know what I went through this morning.” While I empathise that everyone can have a difficult day, that should never be directed at a patient. One of the lovely staff members later explained that they could actually provide my prescription under the Pharmacy First scheme, but the pharmacist initially refused. Even the staff could see how unfairly I was being treated and persuaded her to carry out a consultation. Although she didn’t raise her voice during the consultation itself, her earlier tone and attitude were so harsh and unprofessional that I ended up crying in the pharmacy. It was humiliating and deeply distressing. You expect compassion and professionalism from a healthcare provider that. Sadly, that was not what I experienced today. Update: I have read the owner’s response and it contains several inaccuracies that I need to clarify. Patchs Health had already completed the consultation and directed me to collect my medication from this pharmacy. I did not ask for medication without authorisation, nor did I refuse to explain symptoms. I was never asked about symptoms until a staff member suggested Pharmacy First. The issue was not the system confusion, it was the pharmacist’s behaviour. Comments such as “This is not a sweet shop” and “You don’t know what I’ve been through this morning” were unprofessional and completely inappropriate in a healthcare setting. The staff were kind and clearly uncomfortable, but the pharmacist’s tone was so harsh that I left the pharmacy in tears. It is concerning that the owner’s reply shifts blame onto the patient rather than acknowledging the situation honestly. Arguing with a patient instead of offering a simple apology is not acceptable in any healthcare environment. This is even further damaging your public image just so you are aware.

Some of the most kindest staff I’ve ever met. I’m new to the area and somewhere my prescription had got sent to the wrong area but the staff here got it sorted within 5 minutes finding a Solution and helping me out. Very polite and helpful

Many thanks to the very knowledgeable Ms Patel, pharmacist, who spotted I needed urgent attention and even arranged an emergency appointment at the GP surgery for me. Excellent disability awareness too. Deserves more than five stars. If the pharmacy have a ‘reward and recognition’ programme I would very much like to put forward Ms Patel as a shining example of how pharmacists should be unlike the offhand rude staff in the company that rhymes with Toots.

Excellent pharmacy, always well stocked, clean and tidy. All the members of staff work incredibly hard, they are always smiling and very helpful. A special thank goes to Rachel who is not only working hard, but she goes above and beyond. Recently my daughter was prescribed some antibiotics in an emergency situation and although the pharmacy was basically closing down for the day, Rachel made sure I got the medicines I needed to start the treatment. She acted like it was no big deal, but it meant the world to me! Thank you, you're a true gem!

Without doubt one of the best Pharmacies in my local area... professional approach to customers enquiries shown each time I have been here. Warm engaging and friendly atmosphere and a " can't do enough to help you" attitude makes you feel very comfortable and at ease. Always well stocked, clean and tidy. A really nice friendly place. 10/10 from me... keep up the good work.

Our daughter had a small issue and we saw Kelvin Chang who very kindly put our mind at ease, was very efficient and informative and prescribed the necessary medication to get things sorted. Really good guy.

I have regular dealings with Sterling for a repeat prescription and usually go in on a Saturday. Kelvin the weekend pharmacist is a smashing guy, always friendly as well as kind and concerned, and makes time for a chat. That's why I go there instead of the other place.

I have nothing bad to say about the staff in sterling chemist , I usually shop at the weekend and the staff are very polite, knowledgeable, kind, treat you with respect and extremely helpful, especially the pharmacist. Any establishment get busy over the weekend, but I think the service I have received is Top notch, I would definitely recommend to family and friends. Keep up the good work.

☆☆☆ WORD OF WARNING. DO NOT USE THIS STORE ON A WEEKEND ☆☆☆ It's unfortunate that I'm having to leave a bad review for this store, as I've been shopping there since it popped up on the high street a while ago and have nothing but praise for the everyday counter staff, but the weekend staff have unfortunately led me to want to never set foot over there threshold ever again. Am regularly served by an older woman with curly hair and her knowledge and helpfulness is 2nd to none. Have asked for advise many times from this lady and she's a Godsend, worth her weight in gold in my opinion. Am also regularly served by two younger women, one with long hair and glasses, whose manners and general happiness is infectious and makes me smile everytime I'm served by her. And then a young woman wearing a headscarf, who is also extremely polite, warm and welcoming, which is a pleasure to see, as unfortunately young people of today don't seem to care as much as they should. So as chemists go, this is one of the better one's in the area, and if the staff that were there in the week were there at the weekend, then it would be perfect. Now I've not had to ask for help from the pharmacist too much, but I do know they have a lovely young lady pharmacist whose there in the week and a young man whose there at the weekend. Never had issue at all in this shop, until that is I met the weekend pharmacist, who happens to be the most ignorant, arrogant, rude, self-important, obtuse, insensitive person I've ever had the misfortune to come across, somone who treats people like dog muck on there shoes. Not a pleasant experience at all and one I felt it my duty to warn other's about. So unfortunately that's why I'd rather go back to shopping at Boots, a horrible big conglomerate store and advise people to steer clear of this shop on a weekend, and just shop there weekdays when the staff don't treat you like your bothering them and really with just with sheer total utter contempt.
