I WAS CHEATED BY THE GUY WHO WAS WORKING TODAY, MAY 9, 2025! It was the first time I sent money through Ria through this store because today the store I use was closed and so I looked for this VITAL HOME ESSENTIALS Store. When I got there, I gave my passport to the guy and then handed him £800, £600 in £20 notes and 4 £50 notes and I turned my back to him to put my passport and wallet in my backpack and when he finished counting he said he didn't have £800 and that I only gave him 3 £50 notes... But I know I had £800 because I counted three times before leaving the house and I know there were four £50 notes. He took advantage of my moment of distraction. DO NOT SEND MONEY FROM THIS PLACE.

Rarely open at advertised time, tried to use urgently for a DIY project and ended up having to go elsewhere. It’s a good store if you can get in though and well priced

Great shop - has majority of what a tenement flat and bigger property would need for day to day DIY.

Was just on my way to Arkay printing nearby when I popped in at Home Essentials ,as they generally have proved very good for all hardware items , and as Arkay Printing was charging £2 per copy , Home Essentials only charged .15p. Spot on for helping the community without ripping off their residents . Ill def be back to use them for other service too

Had to go here because they have a printer and print shops are closed in lockdown. They tried to tell me they had printed everything from my thumb drive and they hadn’t. I politely told them they missed two documents, they again said they printed everything and clearly wanted to be done dealing with me. I had to make them put the thumb drive back in and show them what they missed. Three people working behind the counter, two had masks beneath their nose and another was completely maskless. This made the entire time spent in their store uncomfortable.

There is simply not anywhere near enough space here to even begin to describe my many varied experiences in and around the area of Leith Walk and in particular the shop know as Home Essentials. Vital Home Essentials provides every essential item for the home. From the semi holographic Elvis pictures to brooms and everything in between, this is the shop that drives the dynamic pulsating social hub that is Leith! This is where I met the man with an orange for a head. They also sell great advent candles in January, which is when all good satanists celebrate the coming of the lord. Today I was rudely ambushed by the God of the broken shoelace whilst I was on my way to film a documentary about mental health. Who was the angel that appeared to save me on a Sunday from such a predicament, Jesus? Jehova? A Mormon? Buddha? Nope! None of them batted so much as an eyelid as I was almost taken to the hell gods realm; forever to be tormented by broken shoelaces. The angel that came to my rescue was Vital Home Essentials. These people deserve to be worshiped. And I can now confirm that they do sell shoelaces in red and blue as well as the more conventional for Leith which is black and white. Most films that are shot in Leith are in the black and white format. But I digress, would you like to know more about how I met the man with an orange for a head?
