   I visited Edinburgh in October 2025 and bought a Dune bag from this John Lewis store. I am not based in the UK. Unfortunately after only using the bag for a few days the stitching on one of the sides of the main zipper came apart which now leaves me with additional costs for repair. I have contacted customer services in regards to this and I highlighted that I am not based in the UK. Their response was that they could only help me if I physically visited one of their stores. As a tourist I'd advice to only buy from John Lewis at your own risk as their customer service is not helpful at all towards tourists. I would have expected a postal return option or a partial reduction to help cover cost of repair. Very disappointed.

   There is a lot of not so good reviews about John Lewis but I think this is the best shop in Edinburgh. I have bought many things in the Edinburgh branch.....from microwave, TV etc and I popped up to there xmas shop. I saw a tree on display and I asked if it was in stock. The lady went away to check so nice she was. Yes the last one so bought it along with xmas decorations as well.....it was fantastic. The staff are all friendly and very helpful. We went to there larger cafe and got a lovely cheese scone which was huge and a lovely lattie......if you want quality go here. What a lovely shop with lovely things. Only thing that I will say is there could be more staff especially at xmas time to help. The customer collection point could be better signed so it is more noticed. Thank you John Lewis....x

   I had an exceptional experience at the Dior counter in John Lewis. Cara provided outstanding service—professional, attentive, and extremely knowledgeable. Her warm and welcoming approach made my visit truly enjoyable. I am very impressed with the level of care and expertise and will definitely return. Highly recommended!

   This is a great store. It has such a wide variety of products available. We did struggle a bit to find some assistance but this did not trouble us too much. Great selection in their kitchen department.

   Spacious John Lewis with helpful and friendly staff. Great views from the higher floors which makes the shopping experience more enjoyable. If you are going during the weekend, it is still fairly quiet between 9am and 10am

   A friend told us to go here for the view and for the coffee. I looked out of our hotel room and saw it! We had 2nd breakfast here as the store opened at 9am. A cappuccino and a cheddar scone. A self-serve microwave is in the dining room where I warmed my scone. The staff was attentive and helpful.

   More than shopping in John Lewis, good place to spend time with friends, pick gifts, and get professional advice on specific products or brands. Recommend the fifth floor cafe to have a shopping break while appreciating beautiful desserts and window views. Enjoyable experience and super supportive and amazing John Lewis partners⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

   I love the new John Lewis at st James. They have a great menswear and home department, staff are knowledgeable and helpful. Plus they have new areas dedicated to home and personal styling. You can book a free men or women personal styling session or talk to their interior designers. You just can get that service anywhere else. Highly recommended
