“I love this shop - they’ve got a super range of great brands (especially French and Scandi) that I couldn’t previously find in Edinburgh and are amazing for dopamine dressing with lots of colour and interesting pattern / texture. The ladies who work here are always really nice and welcoming, and give their honest opinions about the look & fit when you’re trying something on. I never feel any pressure to buy anything, and come in far more often for a browse & a chat than actually leaving with a purchase. Such a brilliant Bruntsfield shop - hope it never moves solely online”

“Absolutely love this store! The staff are wonderful, happy and friendly. They never ever run out of anything and the store is always clean and tidy. My biggest fear is being judged for not wearing a mask. I needed to pop on here to say thank you to this store for understanding that mask exemptions exist and never once have I felt discriminated against for not wearing one. “In general, great store, spacious, with a wide range of variety and often at a competitive price, better than Tesco or Morrison's. Always get some great bargains even at George's. Never had an issue with self-service, the staff are helpful, too. Especially like the bakery section, where you can get tasty, fresh, palm-free products. Great they still have a sanitary station! My only issue is lack of goat's yoghurt for the third time, shame I keep having to go back to Tesco for this one item. Also, disabled toilet is always locked. Finally, the trolleys are hard to push except for the plastic ones, but they need a pound coin.”

“Went into the Newcraighall store today, on the off chance and because I was passing. I ordered online on Sunday night. I’d had no email confirmation, had no order number, but I could see the transaction on my credit card statement. Anyway, it’s a birthday present for my son and was worried. I’m taking the time to write this because the assistant, Rhonda, was outstanding. It wasn’t even that store but she went above and beyond. I left feeling two things, really relieved that the issue was sorted (and it was- parcel picked up at Meadowbank earlier) and sure that I’d be using Argos (especially the Fort) again. What a nice, competent, helpful woman. ⭐”

“Big shout out to Carol! (I think her name was Carol? Long brown hair worked mostly at the customer helpdesk area?) We were there yesterday during the pre xmas rush. Queues for the tills were stretching right to the back of the shop! Nightmare for the staff. Then we get to the till and wanted to use our voucher we received. Turned out we scanned the wrong membership card! Should have been mine, not my wife's. So Carol had to re-enter ALL our shopping into the other till to make use of the voucher on my account. But she honestly went over and above to help us out and we got the discount! Huge thanks to Carol and the team! She deserves a massive Xmas bonus!! :) Thanks again.”

“This is a great M&S food hall. It's near to my home, so I regularly go there for fancy shopping. There are a lot of car parking spaces. The shop is massive inside and it has everything fancy you need especially during the festive period. The staff are nice. The bakery is my favourite, the pastries are better than any cafe I know.”

The layout is tidy, well stocked, and the staff are friendly and helpful. First sales assistant said the suit I loved didn't come with a waistcoat so I looked elsewhere but ultimately decided to come back as I loved the suit. Susan at the cashdesk was ordering the jacket online for me and found a waistcoat that is part of the suit! So amazing and great service from her. Credit to the shop”

“I took my 88 year old mum for a bra fitting at the M&S store at the Gyle. The lady who helped her was called Margaret and she was absolutely wonderful with my mum. She spent over an hour and a half trying on different bras with a variety of attachments until the perfect one was found for her. My mum was absolutely delighted and I can't praise Margaret enough for having the patience and kindness to ensure that she felt and looked great when she left.”

“I’m not a huge fan of craighleith retail park - it’s a sadly depressing place and given it was built on one of the most important quarry’s - they completely overwrote its history. However, M&S is the shining light - everything is done well here from customer service to the cafe and the clothes store. I once witnessed a woman fall over faint in 2024 and the speed and kindness the staff treated her with deserves to be commended. My go-to in Edinburgh if taking the family for a cafe outing.”
