As Mark's and Spencers go, I've always found this one to be a good standard. There is a huge selection of clothes and I often buy my children clothes here given the quality and price are generally both pretty good. The cafe is popular, sometimes a bit too busy, and can be expensive, but it has very tasty food. The supermarket is always evolving and again has the quality you expect from M&S, but with a price to match.

So tired of all the wide trousers. They all seem to trail on the floor no matter what size. Who wants to walk along a street, ground wet even raining and have trousers all wet at the bottom. Don't suggest high heeled shoes or boots, the trousers look even more ridiculous waving about. Why are men not wearing this style or do they have more sense than the gullible fashion following females around just now.

This store has seen many improvements over the past few years, namely on the Food Hall area, but some of them have been very centred on female customers and the latest addition is the Beauty area which has pushed all the homewares into the back corners and thus reducing product choices by a fair amount (I.e. bedding)! Last time I visited this store I came to purchase new pillows and duvet, while they had most duvet options available on the racks, they didn’t have their Comfortably Cool or Supremely Washable range and despite having the sample pillows on display they had absolutely NONE for sale. The menswear area I swear also has been reduced slightly which isn’t great. There should be an equal share of departments in this Gyle Store as there always has been, and staff should be available to help if needed. The new checkout setup also is a bit weird, but thankfully they unlike other brands, aren’t pushing all customers to use self service when they may not wish to do so.

Excellent M&S. My favourite so far but I have seen other M&S with more people working on the tills at the food area. If you are lucky you get one worker and she is very nice. This situation is a very poor service when you have quite a few items and have to do it all on your own. When they saw an old person they decided to go and open a till. There was a middle age woman scanning and packing a massive trolley on her own. We spend over Β£100 a week, bring checkout staff back.

I took my 88 year old mum for a bra fitting at the M&S store at the Gyle. The lady who helped her was called Margaret and she was absolutely wonderful with my mum. She spent over an hour and a half trying on different bras with a variety of attachments until the perfect one was found for her. My mum was absolutely delighted and I can't praise Margaret enough for having the patience and kindness to ensure that she felt and looked great when she left.

Changing rooms are tiny. Not enough space for your own coat and bag as well as what you're trying on. And the floors are filthy - clothes fall on the ground and when you pick them up, they are covered in dust bunnies, lint and detritus. I also think it's pretty poor, when I'm spending Β£200 on clothes, that I have to use a self-service checkout and fold and bag everything myself.

Always lovely to shop in. Gyle location is handy on one open floor... Includes furniture and food... As well as gifts, clothes and much more. Used the self service check out for food purchases... Alas very busy, lots of red flashing lights and too few staff on hand to help... And of course the machine I used failed to print a receipt... Would have loved an email receipt but could not see that option... So no receipt... Lol oh the things we get focused on!

The shop is always very clean and tidy. All labels are perfectly readable. They have their own brands but you can find good bargain for clothes and underwear. There's a food hall including wines and vegetables. Huge free car park. The shop is inside the Gyle shopping centre which is full of very nice shops. I recently visited the Food Hall and I must say shelves are amazingly organised, clean and tidy and you can find high quality products which is not easy to find everywhere anymore. 5 stars for the Food Hall team well deserved.
