I’ve been going to this supermarket for many years, ever since I was a kid, and it’s only got better over time. They have an excellent selection of food, covering everything from fresh fruit and vegetables to dairy, bakery items, and all the everyday essentials you could possibly need — plus plenty of extras as well. The shelves are usually well stocked, and the quality of the fresh produce is consistently good. One of the things I really appreciate is the variety. There’s a great selection of clothing, which makes it convenient to pick up more than just groceries in one trip. They also have an impressive range of international foods, particularly Asian items, which is brilliant for anyone who enjoys trying different cuisines. On top of that, they do halal meats too, which is fantastic and makes the store even more inclusive and useful for a wider range of shoppers. I’d honestly say it’s one of the best supermarkets in Edinburgh. The customer service is also worth mentioning. If something isn’t on the shelves, you can ask a member of staff and they’ll happily go and check in the back for you. If it’s there, they’ll bring it out without any fuss, which really shows their willingness to help. Overall, it’s a reliable, welcoming, and very well-stocked place to shop, and I’d definitely give it a great review.

Asda cafe- food wasn’t good. We asked for items to be removed that didn’t happen. They didn’t have good teamwork on how to get the food ready and service. The tables needed cleaning. The toilets were vial, need a lot of attention.

In general, great store, spacious, with a wide range of variety and often at a competitive price, better than Tesco or Morrison's. Always get some great bargains even at George's. Never had an issue with self-service, the staff are helpful, too. Especially like the bakery section, where you can get tasty, fresh, palm-free products. Great they still have a sanitary station! My only issue is lack of goat's yoghurt for the third time, shame I keep having to go back to Tesco for this one item. Also, disabled toilet is always locked. Finally, the trolleys are hard to push except for the plastic ones, but they need a pound coin.

If you’ve ever wondered what it might feel like to enter a low-security prison—wonder no more! Asda at the Jewel has kindly recreated the experience for free. Facial scanners, barriers, the whole shebang. Throw in a couple of metal detectors and you'd swear you’d wandered into a modern American high school. Now, before you get too excited, let’s address the crown jewel of The Jewel: the toilets. In my 39 years on this planet, I have never encountered anything so utterly revolting. I’ve seen festival portaloos on day three that were more welcoming. Whatever is living in there deserves its own council tax band. Once you’ve survived that ordeal, you can enjoy the store’s truly thrilling game of Stock Lottery. Will they have what you need? Will the shelves be half empty? Will you find only three jars of beetroot, 19 bags of carrots, and a lone sandal? Nobody knows. That’s the fun. The staff are a delightful mix. You either get: fresh-faced teens smelling like fruity pot pourri from the vapes they’ve been sooking all day, offering customer service with the enthusiasm of someone who’d rather be literally anywhere else, or time-served veterans who clearly used up their last ounce of customer-service energy in the late 1970s. But… credit where it’s due. The Smart Price 80p Strawberry Cheesecake? Absolutely banging. Michelin-star level compared to everything else you’ve just experienced. Summary: If you’re after a cheap cheesecake and a brush with character-building adversity, Asda The Jewel is the place for you. If you’re after cleanliness, comfort, or the will to live… maybe try somewhere else.

Alright, I wanted to file a complaint because I had this incident. First, let me explain. I was at the store, and after making a small purchase—about £9.50—I paid for it. When I was asked at the checkout if I wanted a receipt, I said no to save paper. After paying and not printing the receipt, I realized I’d forgotten to buy one more item. So, I asked the staff if I could leave my items with them and return to the store quickly. But the employee made a big fuss, asking where my receipt was. I explained that I hadn’t printed it, and by then there were other customers at the checkout, so she couldn’t print it either. Yet, she still treated me as if I were trying to steal something, which felt really insulting. I’ve been shopping at this store for about 20 years, spending £100-£150 every week, and I was just there for a small purchase this time. I felt really offended by how she treated me.

No electric car charging points. Car park is absolutely filthy with rubbish caught in all the surrounding landscaping. Prices are terrible compared to other chains and the rice is undercooked at the sushi bar.

A disgrace. Lots of stock in the wrong place and items left all over the place, rubbish on the shelves. A terrible shopping experience. The prices don't justify such a mess, it's not even that cheap.

Visited 27/12. Stuff all over the place. Pricing confusing because of badly stacked shelfs. Staff morale the worst I've seen. Virtually no eggs. The car park and surroundings strewn with rubbish. Overpriced petrol. Nice toaster though.

The staff are always helpful and polite. My one bugbear is the stock availability when I shop there (normally late afternoon due to work) especially on fresh food special offers. It looks like the shelves are filled through the night only and not restocked during the day. You must be losing so much sales due to this. I used to do my weekly shop here but iI’m afraid it’s more than likely to be just the basics like bread and milk now.

Good store with super helpful staff that are most likely not paid enough for all the hard work they do in this 24 hour Asda
