   Big shout out to Carol! (I think her name was Carol? Long brown hair worked mostly at the customer helpdesk area?) We were there yesterday during the pre xmas rush. Queues for the tills were stretching right to the back of the shop! Nightmare for the staff. Then we get to the till and wanted to use our voucher we received. Turned out we scanned the wrong membership card! Should have been mine, not my wife's. So Carol had to re-enter ALL our shopping into the other till to make use of the voucher on my account. But she honestly went over and above to help us out and we got the discount! Huge thanks to Carol and the team! She deserves a massive Xmas bonus!! :) Thanks again.

   Very disappointed with my visit to the Edinburgh store today. Every year on my birthday I come here to start buying in Christmas stuff. Arrived at 11am. Thought the Christmas decorations are pretty poor this year. Not a lot of variety. No packs small fresh cream Victoria sponge cakes (which I always buy on my birthday to share with friends), No mince pies. And to cap it off went to get our usual jacket spuds with beans and cheese for lunch at 12 O’clock, paid at the computer and stood for over 30 mins. I then went up to the counter and said how much longer for my order and was told we have no beans or chilli. Would you like just cheese?. I said why didn’t you say something 30 mins ago and why have you run out at this time of day, surly when you stared work this morning or even yesterday before closing you would’ve known you were going to be running out of food ( it was midday when I ordered). Asked for a refund as I was getting hangry. So all in all not a good visit to the Edinburgh store. Might try Newcastle store in future..

   Absolutely Shocked by the Treatment I Received at Costco Edinburgh I honestly cannot believe I’m writing this, but my experience at Costco Edinburgh last week was something out of a bizarre dream — and not the good kind. I was minding my own business, just trying to get into the store like any normal Costco member, when out of nowhere a blonde employee, quite plus-sized, stormed over to me without saying a word. Before I could even greet her or show my card properly, she snatched it straight out of my hand, held it up like it was counterfeit, and muttered something like, “Not today,” before marching off and literally tossing it in the bin. Yes, she threw my actual membership card in the trash. I stood there stunned, thinking maybe this was some kind of prank or social experiment. It wasn’t. She just walked off like nothing happened. When I went to the desk to report what happened, they acted confused and said they’d “look into it.” I never got an apology, a replacement card, or even an explanation. Is this standard procedure now? Card revoked by random staff with no warning? Completely unacceptable and downright rude. I expect a lot better from Costco — especially in a city like Edinburgh. Won’t be back until this is sorted.

   Horrible Experience – Extremely Rude Employee (Lewis) I usually have a great experience at Costco, but my visit last Saturday (Aug 3rd) was incredibly disappointing because of one employee: Lewis at the desk as I walked in. I approached the first counter I came to when I walked in to ask a simple question about upgrading my membership to Executive. Instead of helping, Lewis sighed loudly, looked me up and down, and said, “If you don’t know what the benefits are, you probably don’t need it.” Um… excuse me? I was shocked. I asked if he could explain the difference anyway, and he rolled his eyes and said, “You can just read the pamphlet over there,” while pointing vaguely behind me. It didn’t end there. When I asked if I could speak to a supervisor, he smirked and said, “They’ll just tell you the same thing.” I ended up walking away without upgrading and feeling humiliated in front of other customers. I’ve never been treated like that at Costco before. Totally unprofessional, dismissive, and rude. If Lewis doesn’t like helping people, maybe he shouldn’t work at the customer service desk. Management needs to seriously look into this.
