On Saturday morning the pharmacy was unable to open on time as the pharmacist had not yet arrived, which I now understand is a legal requirement. While passing, I overheard customers being unnecessarily rude about the staff, which I felt was unfair. When I returned later, the staff were very apologetic. I was assisted by Monique, who was both polite and professional. She offered excellent advice regarding my mother’s ears and handled the situation with great care. Overall, despite the difficult circumstances, the service I received was exemplary.
This pharmacy made a serious dispensing error with my antibiotics, labelling the dosage incorrectly. I followed their instructions for three/four days, only to discover I was taking half the prescribed dose, causing my infection to worsen and delaying my recovery. This level of carelessness is unacceptable, medication errors like this can have serious health consequences. I strongly advise double checking prescriptions before leaving. I’ll be reporting this to the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) to ensure this doesn’t happen to someone else.
Wish I’d gone to another pharmacy… I had my 3 week old baby with me along with his red book but they still made me pay for the prescription because I didn’t have a “maternity exemption certificate”. I’d never heard of this before, not one midwife had told me about this and I hadn’t needed it at any other pharmacy. They didn’t know what the certificate was and wouldn’t help me to understand what I needed so I don’t know how they knew what to accept/not accept and wouldn’t honour the exemption even though it was just a tick the box on a form thing and was very obvious I had just had a baby. The prescription was for both me and baby! Really not what you need as a new mum to be honest. I will go to any other pharmacy going forward.
Outrageously rude and unprofessional. The pharmacy manager shouldn’t be allowed anywhere near people’s medical records/ vulnerable people. -Combative -Rude -unprofessional -shares your private medical info and has calls with your gp on speaker for the whole shop to hear Made one complaint already as when I attended previously I overheard them saying they dosed someone’s methadone meds wrong - completely incompetent - the staff are genuinely amazing, the issue here clearly resides with the pharmacy manager Even some of the staff walked away and were understanding The manager needs to learn some manners, if a GP tell’s me something and I relay that, if it’s not true, I don’t expect the manager to call me a liar!! People can only go by what their told! Consistently rude! On the phone and in person - just rude and abrupt every single time, if not to me then to someone else whilst I’m there. I really would avoid if at all possible.
I would rather not even give a star to this chemist as they are extremely rude. I am a pregnant women and was spoken to with such disrespect from the pharmacist. She needs to learn how to speak to customers who are especially vulnerable.
Slow and inefficient. Prescriptions never ready even when we phone in advance. Well staffed (although new faces every week) so why is it that we regularly have to wait 30 minutes or more??
Despite the current emergency situation and being insanely busy my regular medication was delivered on time. The staff are always approachable, helpful and pleasant. Well done and thank you to all Stevens Chemist staff.
Good pharmacy, and helpful staff. Better than the big ones that are too impolite. People here are friendlier and really care for their customers.
