Stopped by for some whisky tastings and also had some beers. Great atmosphere to have some pints. Awesome customer service from the bartenders. Recommend while in Edinburg.
What a great traditional bar, with something for everyone. Wide menu choice, good food, beer, wine, cocktails and a huge selection of whisky, some of which are beautifully displayed in a glass cabinet along the back wall. Also liked the atmosphere and thought the bar staff were particularly good at their job.
Really nice pub! We were staying in this neighborhood and ended up coming back to the abbey pretty much everyday. The drink selection is great (great options of gin and scotch). The sticky toffee pudding is to die for, literally the best one I had in Edinburgh. I ended up going back daily for it even when we didn’t have dinner at the Abbey. Service was also super nice ! The pub is not super busy but the atmosphere is great!
The Abbey is the perfect pub for us! The service was fast and super-welcoming, the food is amazing and the pub is the nicest! Will definitely come back when visiting Edinburgh again!
Fantastic whiskey tasting options. Great food. Ate the flatiron steak and the abbey burger. Steak plate was a smaller quantity than expected. The burger was scrumptious! Will definitely visit again.
This is the best place to visit if you want to get a taste of Scottish food. The staff at the restaurant was extremely nice. There was a lady who was extremely attentive and caring. She made sure I received a dessert even though the kitchen staff had left for the night. The food portions are good and are quite affordable. I would love to visit this place when I'm back again in Edinburgh.
Nice pub for a dinner and/or a drink (they have an impressive list of whiskies). Be careful the kitchen closes at 9pm sharp, we could not order dessert at 9:05pm!
Amazing local pub with great choice of beer and a fantastic whisky collection. Their staff is very knowledgeable, kind and welcoming and happy to advise if you need help choosing! Food is delicious- we had some starters, some of us had daily specials, others pub classics but everyone was very happy with their choice. You can also call and book a table If you'd like to be sure they'll have space for you.
