very local scottish pub with amazing scottish food. the whole interior feels very inviting and just cozy in general. was my first time trying haggis here and it was delicious. even though it was very busy the service did not disappoint. cannot recommend this pub enough. i'll definitely come back here next time i visit edinburgh.
One of the best pubs we visited in Edinburgh. The place is very nice, everything we tried was delicious and high-quality with large portions. The staff was polite and friendly and made us feel comfortable from the very first moment. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Edinburgh.
A really good place with nice waiter. The food is nice and typically local. Some fish and ships or old bell steak with ale pie, this one was a banger !! So I recommend this place. I really appreciate so don’t hesitate just go there and you won’t be disappointed
The service is good. The food portion is HUGE. Drinks are a bit pricey but understandable. Just did not really like their lights, very strong and warm.
Fun crowded local pub with classic food. Watched Scotland Ireland game here and good vibes. The daily soup was delicious and the pie was good. Reserve a table during busy times to ensure a seat
There was a friendly bartender that had to handle quite a bit of unfortunate situations. We ordered the special meal - a vegan burger (on the pic) and two steakpies. The bartender told us later that those where out. We ordered the Chicken Burger instead just to get notified a bit later those were also out. This can happen, but shouldn't. I know Guinness is less carbonized but this doesn't mean it has none and was completely still... The vegan burger as the special meal of the day was really disappointing. The patty consisted of a fatty and poorly spiced Champignon, a bit of Paprika, Salad and A tomato. The fries came straight outta the freezer and the sweet chili dip straight outta supermarket. Overall a really poor and unsatisfying experience and I feel sorry for the bartender.
Really nice authentic pub with a great atmosphere! We discovered it by accident one evening and decided to give it a try. Oh boy, we were not disappointed. We liked it so much that we came back a second time during our stay in Edinburgh. The first evening we tried the haggis from their menu (my girlfriend had the veggie option). Both meals were so delicious (the pepper sauce is to die for)! The second evening we ordered both the veggie haggis. Compliments to the chef! Also, the staff was very attentive! The young guy behind the bar recommended a really tasty and smooth whiskey. All in all, an awesome experience.
