My friend and I wanted to try some traditional Scottish dishes, so we chose this restaurant, and it turned out to be a great decision. The atmosphere was elegant and quiet, perfect for a relaxed meal. The service was warm and welcoming, and the staff’s recommendations were spot on. I highly recommend the lamb stovies—absolutely delicious and very generous in portion size. The beef and roasted potatoes were also excellent. We even tried some traditional Scottish soft drinks, which was a nice touch. Overall, it was a very satisfying and enjoyable experience.

Had a drink at the bar. Wide selection of whiskey. Bartender was very friendly and knowledgeable. Let him know what styles you like or what you want to explore. Scan QR to have a look at the range.

It was a really nice and surprising experience. When we went there, there wasn't a lot of people, so the place was quiet and the ambience was calm. The waiters were all so nice and recommend us things when we asked for it. Our main dishes (grilled steelhead sea trout fillet and the hake fillet) were so tasty and well balanced, all of the food made sense with eachother; we were really surprised by all of it. The dessert was also really good (dark chocolate and cherry brownie). Can't recommend this place enough!

Our first time. The staff was attentive and courteous. We ordered the cherry orchard and the whiskey hot Toddy. Both were excellent. Then we ordered the chef's choice of five tapas and the lamb stovies. Everything was excellent. We ended with the sticky toffee pudding. Which was perfect. In the end we both had two drinks each and shared the three dishes for £58. Seriously one of the best meals we've had in Edinburgh and also the least expensive. I highly recommend this place. I would eat here every day if I could.

This charming and comfortable restaurant inside the Scotch Whisky Experience is a wonderful place. Staff are friendly and welcoming, and service throughout our dinner was exceptional. Both my husband and I got a 2-course meal. We started with the sea trout, which was very fresh and perfectly cooked. It was served with a potato cake, and fresh peas with fennel and a lovely white sauce. The dish was beautifully composed and presented. My husband had a 15-year-old whiskey, while I had lovely craft whiskey cocktail. For dessert, I had the chocolate whiskey tart and my husband had the sticky toffee pudding. Both were excellent. A perfect dining experience.

A nice dinning experience especially if youbare wanting to try different whiskey. The staff was friendly and the food was very flavorful. The only unfortunate part is that they close so early. Our reservation were at 630pm and the restaurant was very quite. They turned several people away while we were there because they close at 730p. Would be great if they considered extending their hours.

Skipped the tour and came right here! An excellent selection of whisky and amazing food! I didn't think vegan haggis could be a thing but it most certainly was. The staff were happy to recommend pairing whiskys and more, would love to return! Found my new favourite whisky, tootoo. Great service!

It was the best lunch we had in Scotland. The salmon came in large quantities and was delicious. We ordered the venison, which is only made for dinner, but we were still very well served. The other dish was the traditional haggis, which was very tasty.

We had a three course meal here with whisky pairing at each course. The food was stunning and raised to a different level with the paired whisky. My partner said the venison was one of the best things she had ever eaten. The staff were all friendly and knowledgeable. We will definitely come back next time we are in Edinburgh

Went for the Burns night Mary kings close then meal. Food was great except the turnip/swede fondant was pretty raw and the whiskey sauce and dessert could do with a touch more whiskey so there's a taste of it but other than that food good. Service started fantastic however the busier it got the slower drinks service and clearing tables became. However yes we would go again it was great value and the drinks prices I though we're good value
