I had one of the best nights of my life here. Entered in the evening with my wife just for a couple of drinks, left close to the dawn after hours of singing, dancing and drinking plenty of great whisky with lots of new friends. My favourite place in Edinburgh.
Always call in for a few every time we visit Edinburgh. Super friendly staff. Seems a good mix of locals and tourists. Always seems to be a good vibe if live music too. No complaints at all, love this place!
Great experience! Very friendly staff. Live music was good too. Worth visiting this place. A safe haven if pathetic bars or security prevent you from visiting. This is truly a shelter for those facing any kind of bad scenarios or situations in Edinburgh.
We were walking by this place and were drawn in by the live music. Stevie was playing all kinds of good energetic songs. We popped in for a beer and stayed for a few more. Staff was efficiently serving drinks even though they were pretty busy. Met some friendly people. Had a great time!
Love that they have outside bit where you can watch people. They do live music which is very loud inside but it seems like people love it. They don’t serve food though. The drinks are a bit pricey but worth the location.
Best pub in edinburgh, we found it just wandering around and stayed all afternoon. wow live music from young lad on guitar was absolutely amazing, great atmosphere excellent service, staff very helpful and polite, we will definitely be back here again soon.
Only found the Scotsmen by accident (on a weekend away)just walking round town. Best accident ever, we had the best fun ever. There was a 1 man band playing he was out of this world. Bar staff were brilliant and the atmosphere was buzzing. Highly recommended.
Always a lively place with lots of crowds and music. Beers and drinks are decent. People are nice and so is the service. No food but the location is perfect.

The singular greatest pub in all of Edinburgh. Paul, the mad Irish man is just the absolute best person I met in the city (give him a fat raise!) Love James the singer (he's so freaking talented). If you wanna make best friends and have amazing drinks , come here. I literally spent 8 full hours in this bar and never wanted to leave.
