Very friendly staff, good pub food and nice to sit either upstairs or downstairs. If very crowded food can take some while but you are told before!

“Just brilliant”. I was celebrating my Birthday in Edinburgh and came to O’Neills on my last night. The city is picturesque but the service and interaction I experienced here left an indelible impression on me. The bar attendant Jamie G was a perfect host. He made my birthday event something I will always remember. Great interaction with positive commentary around the interests and beauty of the city ensuring myself and party guests were catered for beyond expectation. Remarkable care and attention to ensure a memorable moment in time seemed to be his priority. He nailed it. Thank you Jamie

A large selection of alcoholic beverages, but smaller selection of food:) which was a bit problematic. A lot of places to sit, we were there twice- the first time it was quiet, intimate and peaceful, and the second time there was karaoke night, so I think everyone will find something for themselves there. Recommended!!

Came in with some mates to try the bar after it changed to Oneils. Firstly the place looks fantastic, nice vibe and I like the seating arrangement and TVs which would be class for sporting events. Unfortunately the service was pants. Stood at the bar upstairs as the bartender continued his convo with his pals at the bar. Then people came to the bar and he served them as I’m still standing at the bar, apparently I need to do the work to get served. Lifeless interaction and pints later, all in unbranded glasses, with mine being far from full (pic attached). Brilliant. My next round was the same, bartender didn’t stop his convo as I’m standing at the bar waiting to spend money. This is hospitality now I guess. Anyway. My first and last visit. And 4 people with me felt the same. Easy way to lose 5 people I guess. Didn’t try the food but did see some coming out and it looked fantastic.

Really fun bar with friendly staff! Had such a laugh playing pool and sampling the food with a few drinks. If you're in Edinburgh definitely a place to check out

Used to frequent this bar with my flat mates over 27 years ago, so great to visit again while on holiday in Scotland. Great value lunch also!

Went in just after midday. Very quiet which was nice and good atmosphere. Music a little loud but manageable. Nice menu with selection of classic pub grub. The ham and cheese panini was delicious and the woman who served me was funny and kind. There’s also a list of the beers they serve in the pictures. Toilets a bit of a trek and it’s a bit of a maze but they’re really clean and don’t have that standard underground Edinburgh toilet smell. Really chill vibe and I imagine it can get a bit wild later on. Decent prices as well.
