Pleasant city centre bar. The beer is good and the staff are friendly and efficient. Had to return a pint because it was at the bottom of the barrel and the barman was happy to change it. This is a good sign that they care about their customers. Booth seating is a nice and comfortable.
Tried the best scotch of my life here! Had a riot playing Jumbo Jenga on a quiet weeknight. The bar staff takes great care - even remembered our drink preferences on the second visit. The manager Ari is an absolute gem. Music selection on point. Definitely worth a visit.
This spot was lots of fun! They have a great atmosphere and great drinks! The small outdoor section is unique and brings that old town vibe into the establishment. Definitely going back!
A cozy, basement-level gem in the heart of Edinburgh with an atmosphere that’s equal parts warm and characterful. The scotch whisky selection is extensive and well-curated, and their rotating taps keep things interesting, with a few excellent cask ales from local breweries on offer. The bartender was genuinely friendly and happy to chat, adding to the welcoming feel. A standout is their weekly showcased whisky, the “Dug Dram,” which is offered at a very affordable price—perfect for exploring something new without breaking the bank. A great spot for both whisky lovers and casual pub-goers alike.
Had always passed this place over the years and finally visited on a Saturday afternoon. Nice interior and mentioned in a few Alexander McCall Smith books. Just a little souless that afternoon....someone walked in and was asked how he was... he replied 'Well I woke up this morning so that's a start...". Nearby Kays Bar has more life.
Woof woof! You can't go wrong with a quick pint at the Wally Dug. Used to be my regular haunt during my RBS days. Make sure you visit on a Thursday night. The disco ball always makes an appearance!!
Welcoming, cozy and with a nice range of beer including one cask line. Whisky selection looked superb.
Gave this place 4 stars, 6 years ago, apparently. However, I came back recently and loved it, my dog loved it. Friendly staff and clientele, reasonably priced booze with a great selection.
A lovely pub, slightly off the beaten track, worth a visit, split level, with a good choice of drinks.
