Excellent quality beer served in attractive surroundings. An amazing choice of beers and whiskys which can almost be overwhelming, but fortunately the staff are more than happy to recommend. Can get busy as it's not a big pub, but it's always worth a visit.

Great service and such a cosy and welcoming environment. An amazing and diverse array of draft and bottled beers/ciders etc rotate and keep this pub a must have frequent stop to check and see what new draft and bottled drinks are on offer. They also offer exceptional whisky and in particular a great value malt of the month which is always worth it. Love the environment and always great for spotting cute dogs.

Late Saturday afternoon we were in Stockbridge and Mrs S said ' i fancy a half of cider...' as we were passing the Stockbridge Tap we called in - traditional pub lots of wood and leather - friendly welcome, good choice of beers and ciders - all very pleasant non pretentious - a nice local pub (and clean toilets) with good view of Stockbridge main Street - and we will come back. thank you.

A lovely, friendly pub for cask ales and with brilliant staff. No food, but plenty of Pipers crisps available, and very dog-friendly.

One of my favourite bars for all the years I've lived in Edinburgh. Great array of local and regional drinks that rotate regularly. Calm, casual no nonsense vibe. Friendly staff who are good chat.

Great pub, amazing choice of ales and ciders. Staff were extremely helpful and knowledgeable and also great with local knowledge. Also helped when we left our glasses in the pub after one too many. Thank you.

Great range of beers and friendly bar. Well worth a visit and only 20 walk from Princess Street.

Good selection of ales, beers and lager and the whisky selection looked pretty decent. Prices were good and it was fairly bright and open. As a non-local I'm not sure it felt overly welcoming, it wasn't hostile just wasn't friendly and was perhaps more of a local bar than some others in the area. Perhaps it warms up a bit depending on the crowd that is in and I wouldn't discount going back but it may not be my first choice.

One of the very few spots I really 100% enjoyed in Scotland. Only craft references (beer for sure, I don't know about the spirits), 6 casks, 10ish on draught, old beer mirrors and a place crowded with both locals and visitors. Publicans know their beers. Feels like home. Worth the trip.
