Visited Old Post Office Bar during our Canal Boat holiday last week. We really enjoyed it. yes the carpet needs replacing but as far as I understand that is being done soon. Its the staff that made me leave a review, they were so friendly and chatty. Nothing too much trouble. Well done to you all!

I created an account just to come and leave feedback for this place. My husband and I came in yesterday for lunch and were just blown away. We're not from Linlithgow, but we felt leaving like we had been part of the town for years. The sign outside wasn't kidding when it said "warm welcome". We were greeted by, I think, Stephen and Fiona. Asked how our day was, where we would like to sit, and how we would like to order. We sat down near the bar, ordered food at the bar and had a look at the drinks options. A great selection on tap, although would have loved to seen more IPA options. Service was great, food was amazing. We were told the macaroni cheese was homemade, as was the soup. So we ordered both. You would never have known you were in a chain pub; it was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. We did overhear the bar staff speaking about new flooring going in, and some refurb works and how the pub would look after it was completed. We will definitely be back to see how it looks, it sounds so exciting and you could tell that they were all so passionate about this pub. We truly had an exceptional experience in here, and for a couple of people from the far North, we absolutely will return to Linlithgow when next in the Central Belt. Well done folks, you are a credit to the establishment! L.x

Traveling friends you need to come to the post office. You need to find the bartender, Her name is Sophie. What a wonderful hostess!. Can she pour your pint? Just one pint, you say? What makes a pub or bar memorable? This would be the staff there to cater to your experience. Sophie and her fellow associates took good care of us. They showed great interest and above all were eager to make our experience a memorable one. I agree. I will remember it to the day I die. Hopefully I won't die anytime soon so it will be a long memory, but should I die immediately? Damn! This was not planned. Sophie, should you be reading my review, I thank you so much for the great time we had. I hope that others who travel and visit your establishment will find such a wonderful time as we did. I look forward to a time in the future when I can visit again.

Badly run down pub. Hasn’t seen any maintenance or renovation for at least a decade. Greene King are allowing it to deteriorate. Toilets need an upgrade and they need to rip out what’s left of the carpeting in the bar and wash the floor properly!

Pretty dam good value. Our whole lunch was around Β£23 for both of us. Are light but excellent food quality! KJ, from the kitchen was fantastic! There was a football (soccer) game in and we loved every minute. While my wife was writing postcards to the kids lol! I was catching up on some work stuff but great spot.

Popular place for both young and not so young. Staff do very well making sure everyone is attended to even at the busiest hours on a Saturday night. More assertion in keeping areas of the bar clear for people ordering would be ideal, however I do accept there's a fine line between balancing a good positive atmosphere and trying to tell drunk people where they can and can't stand. Cheap prices and a great selection of drinks.

Nice wee pub, staff are friendly and super helpful. Prices ( particularly food) and reasonable and the food is decent pub grub. At the weekend they are dog friendly. They have sports screens, so if that's your thing, all well. There are a few wee cubbies to hide from the screens if that's your jam though! Pool table also available. Our teen sons like it there, it's a good place to nip in for a weekend pub lunch with the whole family (furry friends included).

Very busy tonight, and no queue management. The staff can see who has been waiting but allow queue jumpers who appear they know, as you can tell from the banter. It's a shame they are working so hard, but it's just rude to ignore specific customers. We have visited regularly, but the first pub we walked out of after such disrespectful treatment. Ps I expect a wait at these times, just not to be ignored. Previous to this visit the pub has a good beer selection and food at reasonable prices.
