What an Amazing job done from the staff at Steer Edinburgh, On my arrival Morgan greeted me and on picking the car up. It was Morgan that was at the desk, I looked at the car before heading in to get the keyfob and it was like the Subaru had never been in an RTA. It was professional throughout the whole procedure from start to finish, the end result was flawless. The Subaru is back to the showroom standard and I honestly can say that I would highly recommend Steer Automotive Group Edinburgh to anyone.

My vehicle was sent here at the beginning of August via Admiral insurance. My initial contact was a voice mail left by a very friendly lady requesting that I call her back. This is unfortunately where my issues started, it takes an absolute eternity for anyone to answer the phone. I regularly waited between 25-30 mins on hold to speak with someone. This left me with deep concerns regarding the standard of the repair my car was going to get given this company cannot answer the phone timeously. (Even Admiral experienced this problem when they were trying to get updates for me) The overall communication throughout the repair process was nothing short of abysmal. During this entire process I received 2 text messages, one of which was telling me the car was being sent there via Admiral insurance (received on day 1). The other was to tell me that my car was going into the paint shop, that was it. Every other update I was forced to obtain either myself of via Admiral. After around 4 weeks I was telephoned and advised that my vehicle was finished but the paintwork had failed quality control. I was offered to go and collect the car and then rebook it back in. I went to see the car and found that the paintwork was shocking. I also noticed that the bonnet would not secure on the nearside. Upon opening the bonnet I was astonished to see that the section of the bonnet catch which is secured to the underside was completely insecure and nearly fell off. It was only prevented from doing so by the heads of the bolts. As a result of this I did not take the car away. I was also aware that something was missing from the car, but I could not put my finger on it. Over the coming week I did not receive any communication and I had to chase any updates myself, once again spending up to 25 minutes on hold each time. It then dawned on me what had been missing from the car and it was the Quattro badge from the grill. I advised the body shop of this, they conceded it had not been replaced, and they assured me one would be ordered. Around 8 days later I telephoned the garage at around 0930 and after being on hold for 28 minutes, I was advised that the Quattro badge had arrived that morning, the car would be ready later that day, but I would receive a telephone call. By 1500 I had received no such call and was forced to wait another 24 minutes to get an answer. This time I was informed that the Quattro badge had arrived in the afternoon and the car would be ready to collect the following day. I agreed to attend at 1100. I arrived at 1100 and found my car parked in the car park, it was still covered in dust / residue and was advised that it would just be given a wash. I was afforded the opportunity to have a quick look over it and upon doing so I noted that the Sline badges, which are supposed to be on the front wings, had been kindly left in their wrappers in the cup holder. Down the left hand side of the drivers seat is full of glass and there were various glass fragments around the car. There were several damaged trims where clearly no care had been taken to remove them and others have been badly refitted. The excessive amount of bond used to replace the windscreen was bulging and protruding into the cabin of the car. This had apparently passed quality control! You simply could not miss the glass, the amount was horrendous. I drove the car home, hoovered out all the glass out and emailed their experience address as I had seen this email address on responses to other unhappy reviews on Google and trust pilot. I was contacted the following day by Nadia at Edinburgh who was very helpful and arranged for me to take the car back in. I cannot begin to express how disgusted and disappointed the entire process was using this company, everything from communication, to standard of repair and then the condition the vehicle has been returned to me was nothing but an absolute joke and an embarrassment. I would avoid using this body shop like the plague and if Admiral attempt to send your car here, flat out refuse.

Worst experience ever. Not only garage had dented my car while fixing, but none of the emails were not replied until I had escalated with my insurance provider. Even after this - I got an appointment two months after, on which they just managed to take pictures and told me that I will get a call back next day. Same pictures were provided already two months prior. Obviously call back or any future actions were not received and any of follow up emails or calls not answered! Absolute waist of time, nerves and money!

Staff all friendly. Even the auld one! Paint looks great at first inspection and they've looked after the car. No new marks or wheel damage. I've had horror stories in the past with other cars and other garages so was anxious but I need not have been. Professionals. Will update if any changes in a few months. Cheers. Marty. Edit - now the car is dry and has been viewed in direct sunlight there are several swirls over most of the panels. Have emailed. Will update following response. Final edit. The site manager, Scott along with Vikki were incredibly helpful and provided regular updates to me to help resolve the damage. They got me in as soon as possible and arranged someone to sort my car specifically. They contacted me the very next morning and booked me in no time. Car has been polished to a high standard in a very quick turnaround. Every person I met at Steer was friendly and mistakes happen. They resolved the issues providing 5 star service and listened to what I felt needed fixed. Compared to local high end German main dealers it's night and day... Would have zero issues using them again and will recommend to anyone in a similar situation! Cheers Marty

Steer did a brilliant job repairing my car after it was dented in an accident. They worked with my insurance company to organise the repair. The affected area of my car looks new.

Appalling service. They did the estimate and then...nothing. Two months later I enquired via my insurance provider as to when my car would actually be repaired. Bennetts then cancelled the order and refused the job, which is just childish, also deeply unprofessional. If I could give zero stars.

Stay away from Bennetts! They did a repair through the insurance after the accident. Customer services was ok, but not promptly informed by the workshop about progress of the repair. Workshop is a disaster. Do not expect your car to be treated with respect, despite they will tell you, that they give you 5 year warranty. They cut corners on mine and after three returns and two independent inspections my car was finally repaired by another garage. All took nearly 8 months from the accident. Due to the high volume of cars they repair, they have no time to pay attention to their work and there is no quality control either. Over the phone they will promise you everything, but in reality they do not care at all.

An absolute joke. Car went in on the 23rd and was supposed to be ready and delivered back by the 28th. They keep saying it will be ready tomorrow, but tomorrow never comes. Now they say they won't be delivering because they only deliver the working day after it's fixed and I'm left without a car for another weekend. An absolute joke. Steer well clear (pun intended) and if your insurance company sends you their way ask for someone else. Update: I decided to go pick the car up myself, they said it would be ready by 2pm. I called before heading out, to make sure the car was ready for pick-up. They said yes. I arrived at 2.30pm, and - you guessed it - the car wasn't ready. I was told to it would be ready in 10' which - you guessed it again - ended up being another 30'. All that while I had to leave work, hence being on a tight schedule. A complete and absolute joke of a service, mostly rude, and with no respect to their customers.
