Thank you. My appointment waa squeezed in having lost a crown, the treatment I required was a lot more complex than just refitting the crown, but despite having limited time, the dentist, Elizabeth, started the treatment I required and managed to restore my crown temporarily. Great experience.
I am a senior male and have attended Kirkliston Dental Surgery for many years. My experience with them is that they have a philosophy of preventative care towards oral health. To be able to deliver this they require understanding of your lifestyle, general health, and dental hygiene practices. After each check-up they then provide you with advice on how to improve the health of your teeth and gums. The result for me is my teeth and gums are now in better condition than before I attended Kirkliston. Excellent communication, attention to detail and technical skills in a clean and comfortable environment with friendly staff are the things a like about this practice. I highly recommend this practice as it is the best I have experienced in my lifetime.
I took my son Archie here for an appointment to assess two potential fillings, and while the clinical need was confirmed, I was shocked by the dentist’s behaviour. She made a number of false assumptions about me, my son, and his lifestyle. She implied his dental issues were due to poor parenting and diet, ridiculed me for supposedly not brushing his teeth, and even compared us to her grandson, saying she would “never let him brush his own teeth.” She also described Archie’s cavities as “HUGE” and talked about injections as if he wasn’t in the room, which left him feeling anxious, upset, and very nervous about ever returning. I was left embarrassed, distressed, and appalled by the way we were spoken to. I do my best as a parent to support my son with his oral hygiene, and to have my parenting judged so harshly in front of him was completely inappropriate. As a result, my son has begged to return to his former dentist in the city centre, even though it’s far less convenient for us. After this experience, I will not be bringing him back here. On a positive note, the reception staff were absolutely lovely—kind, professional, and very accommodating. Unfortunately, the dentist’s attitude completely overshadowed this and has lost the practice our custom.
I had a consultation with Graham, the dental technician, who was extremely professional and helpful in trying to resolve problems I am having with a temporary denture. I feel so much more confident that, once my gum has fully healed, Graham will be able to build me a comfortable denture. He was wonderfully patient and happy to explain how this will be achieved.
Possibly the best dental treatment iv had. Staff are amazing but Unfortunately like many others had to move dentists because of changes to the system due to covid. Hopefully in the future they can revert back to the NHS treatment that serves the community best.
The absolute worst!! Reception is shocking!! Service has become progressively worse over the years!! Don't get me started on the cost.
I too have been going to this Dentist for 20 yrs now and I have had nothing but excellent service from all staff who work there. I was there last week, for an examination due to having a suspected abscess, ended up having an extraction and it was a totally painless experience and done within a matter of minutes.
Been visiting for a few years now. Great team and great dentists. Really feel at ease and feel I am getting proper professional advise. I have had poor experiences with other practices in the past but with Kirkliston Dental Surgery I can honestly say I've never had any issues. Highly recommended.
