i found a parking place even on saturday. It’s a free car park during every weekend. Thx to wigan council that they did a good job.
It's a multi story car park with tight turns to go up or down the levels and has the metal rails along the side which looks aggressive and un nerving in my opinion. Plus after a 15 minute stay cost 1.60 .. I think it's easier to park on the streets
Awful if attending with a pram. Parent and child spaces are impossible to get as there are only about 3!! If you do get one and drive a small suv or 4x4 you'll need to watch your boot opening as the roof lintel is low and will damage the paint work on your car. Most other spaces are tiny and really difficult to get a baby out of a car seat. And today the card machine didn't work and there wasn't any other option to pay than cash! Sort it out wigan council!
Not a bad car park. It's located in a good place for access to most of town centre (With the exception maybe of the Wallgate area but there are other car parks near Wallgate), easy to get to as well. We've experienced little queueing when there but it suffers from a problem many car parks suffer from if they are over ten years old or so - the parking bays and the required turning circles are just too tight for all the newer, bigger SUVs that are so popular now. Granted when being built the majority of cars were hatchbacks and saloons and the car park was built to fit those cars. Nowadays 2 in every 3 cars sold is a SUV (I think that's the stat!). The direction signage inside the structure could do with an update as well. And the payment technology installed is a bit "Last gen" .....that's being a bit picky though......it passes muster on the big things........Do you have to queue for a long time to get in or out - No........Is your car safe from damage when parked - Yes......Are you safe from crime when walking to or from car - Yes......Is it a reasonable price - Yes.
Great carpark located in Wigan town centre. Feels safe and secure. Usually staff and security on site. Sometimes hosts free parking. Even when parking is not free, the prices are good anyway.
Staff are fantastic car is well looked after
Amended this car park much harder now not manned looking for pay display and exit with ticket changed not easy use. Was much better when manned. Made less stress.
If I could rate lower than 1 star I would!!! Pay machine not working therefor having to pay via a window in car on way out which creates massive queues 1 hour worth of queueing!!! Taking our ticket price into the next price bracket how ridiculous!!!! Do not park here! Massive pain!
Poor. Dark and dingy. Although the stsff there are very polite and helpful.
