This was always a must-visit enroute to any gigs at the O2 Academy and it still has a great atmosphere!....but I'll be giving it a swerve after our most recent experience here. They appeared to have only 3 members of staff serving at the bar on a busy Saturday night, with 1 staff member stood there polishing glasses ignoring customers. a) this isn't very hygienic as who knows when that dishcloth was last washed and b) everyone should be serving customers when its busy... glass management can wait! The 3 serving seemed woefully unorganised and inefficient, with all 3 wandering round the bar sporadically, instead of each manning a section of the bar - as is customary during a busy period. I waited at the bar for 30 minutes(!!!) without a single staff member making eye contact with me. So we walked out thirsty! I miss the previous management who got the basics right.

Exactly what you want in a traditional Glaswegian bar. It's just a shame that the trendy clientele have taken it over. Loved going in here and seeing the old folk up dancing and having a good laugh.

This pub is the opitomie of 'don't judge a book by it's cover'. The outside may not look the most inviting but once you go inside it is a great pub, with a great atmosphere and lots of memorabilia. 3 handpumps all with the local Fyne Ales

Love this place. Manages to be both sweetly nostalgic and bang up to date all at the same time. Beer good too with old fashioned good service. Brilliant

Iconic institution with unchanged decor from the sixties. It’s cash only, family run and unpretentious. Limited selection of draught ales but it’s not the drink you come for here, it’s the atmosphere. It might look rough n ready but it’s welcoming and friendly and a glimpse into pubs before the huge corporations took over

It's just a pub... the best pub in Glasgow obviously. Cracking and friendly atmosphere with a mix of beers and ales alongside the usual pub offerings. Friendly staff and always feel welcome here. The best stop on the subcrawl and a great wee place to stop in for a chill pint.
