Sy and his Bar Team helped me organise a 50th Birthday Party for a friend this weekend just passed (29th November). The buffet food was amazing and everyone was so friendly and helpful - absolutely nothing was too much trouble! They allocated a part of the pub just for us free of charge and even piped appropriate music through just for us! The atmosphere is always great, but they made my friend, who’s Deaf feel really special. Would not hesitate to recommend to anyone and everyone. A huge thanks! Steve. x

Unfortunately extremely slow service for food. Already messed us about with cancelling the table then going back on that, did get free prosecco from it however given how long the food took to come out and the quality of the food not being worth over an hours wait. Not to mention having a diabetic at the table so leaving us to wait for food and telling us it was coming out soon - still having to wait 30 minutes was pretty poor. The staff seemed lovely unfortunately just not a great night.

As a chef I’ve made a million roasts and don’t normally eat 1 BUT that was absolutely great. I had roast pork (fantastic). We aslo had 2 chicken and a vegetarian roast. All were fantastic and all full belly’s for our train journey home. Many thanks.

Popped in for a pint after parking as the nearest pub. Staff were friendly and a top pint. Great range of snacks. Plenty of seating inside and outside. They have an area for dogs too to drink. Massive garden outside and plenty of space. Has events on too so check for details here. Was quiet when we came in the day but people starting arriving around 4 ish.

I don’t normally leave reviews but have been compelled since having a roast in the Phoenix today. I was in Bristol from London for the day and happened to go here by chance. It was honestly one of the best roast dinners I’ve ever had and the value for money was incredible. Absolutely loved it and for £12 you can’t go wrong!! Would recommend a thousand times over. Thank you - the range of veg that come with it is unbeatable.

Bit of a wait today, but well worth it. Nice staff, even though they were so very busy - it was a Sunday lunch day.. The Sunday menu was very minimal, which made it easier to choose to be honest, our table of 9 picked everything on the menu between us and it was all lovely. Including the pudding. Fairly priced too. A nice pub/bar (...a par? Bub?) With great vibes inside and out, drinks are very reasonably priced for the venue. They close at 11pm and last orders are at 11pm too, which is great. Located just outside Cabot Circus it's in a prime location for locals and tourists. Would happily come back when next in Bristol.

Really nice pub and pretty good value too but I’m afraid my Sunday lunch wasn’t really up to scratch. The meat was tough but worst of all, the broccoli was totally undercooked. I had to leave most of it as I couldn’t actually cut it! Maybe have a word to the chef…
