I like what they've done with the outside but was underwhelmed with the changes in the inside. Β£14 for a pint and a medium white wine, which is pretty pricey (same round in Tennents is Β£10), and although I know that prices can vary in the West End I don't think the pub is upmarket enough to justify it. Had a look at the food menu and the prices were eye watering for pub grub. I can't really think of a reason why I will ever go back here, which is a shame really as The Rock was always somewhere you could pop in for a reasonably priced drink.

Went for lunch on Friday 12th December. Decor is nice and seating in the dining area comfortable and the food was tasty enough but vastly overpriced ! A battered piece of fish, probably cooked from frozen with mcains style chips @Β£20 and a pie n mash at Β£19 is high end restaurant price , not pub price. Draught beers a tad on the pricy side but a large glass of sauv blanc @ Β£11.25 is eye watering. Too pricey for my pocket. That was my first and final visit !

It seems we are paying for a paint job, and not much more. Yes, the new refurb is much improved, the new wooden floor smells great, and certainly the increased seating means more money in the till, but thatβs about all that I can say that remains positive about what is yet another very sub par west end establishment. The price hike is absolutely ridiculous, made worse by the very very poor quality of food and amateur service (automatically charged at 10%). Iβve attached a photo of the flagship Nicholson Burger, and the final receipt. I think that says it all.

Refreshed, rejuvenated and ready to serve the local people of Hyndland and beyond following a major refurbishment. The decor is a perfect blend of homely feel and sophistication. Looking forward to many more pints!

Great pub. In for a pint early in the day so was quiet. Looked really good but is closing soon for refurbishment so going to be even better. Has outside seating as is a suntrap. Smashing pint. Great staff.

The Rock is a lovely pub in Hyndland, great atmosphere and prices! The manager Alex is particularly great, she runs the place well and is very friendly! Will definitely be back!

This is such a great, proper pub. Very friendly, lovely locals, great selection on beers and a really good pub quiz on Thursdays

Large pub. Good pint of draft peroni. No real ale. Lots of large TV screens. Outside terrace area (not covered) Pool table, juke box. The seat we sat on had a ripped cover. Apart from that, decent pub. We will be back for more!
