   Always so helpful, reasonably priced and quick. I phoned this morning for a last minute repair as found a screw in my tyre, they were able to squeeze me in and repaired it for me there and then. Delighted to have JB Tyres so local to me, thanks guys.

   i wouldn’t even give this place one star. I took my car to JB because there was a nail in my tyre. They told me it was unfixable and even said I would “kill somebody” if I drove on it. I laughed and said “that’s fine,” because I knew they were exaggerating and just trying to pressure me. I then went to another garage only 10 minutes away, and they confirmed there was absolutely nothing wrong with the tyre — it could be safely repaired with no issues at all. This made it clear that JB were trying to sell me a new tyre unnecessarily, even though my existing one was a nearly-new Michelin. When I phoned JB afterwards to explain what the second garage had said, the woman on the phone was extremely rude, shouting over me and giving me nothing but attitude. She even said she would call the police because I was “apparently happy to kill somebody,” which was completely untrue and taken totally out of context. She then passed me over to the mechanic who had inspected my tyre, and he called me an offensive name. I’ve never experienced such rude, unprofessional behaviour from any business. I was told never to contact them again — which is fine, because I certainly won’t. I strongly recommend anyone who visits them to get a second opinion before agreeing to any work.

   After reviewing this case, our professional opinion remains that the tyre in question had been driven underinflated for a prolonged period. During your visit, it was mentioned that air had been added to the tyre over a period of around five weeks prior to inspection, which is consistent with the signs of sidewall damage and internal weakening we observed. In such cases, our technicians are duty-bound to prioritise customer and road safety. A tyre that has been run flat or shows sidewall deterioration cannot be safely repaired in accordance with British Standard BSAU159. We appreciate that another garage may have offered a different view; however, our advice was based on safety regulations and our professional assessment at the time.    Had occasion recently to use this company for the first time when my wife’s car had a puncture. Unfortunately, the offending screw had damaged the side wall and the tyre could not be repaired.Being a weekend, a new tyre was ordered for the Monday. Picked up the wheel and tyre and Lisa in the office, noticing my senior status, had one of their staff attend at my home to fit the wheel back on with no extra charge. First class service and a reasonable price. Thank you to all concerned. Cheers !

   Used this local company for several years for punctures and changing over to my winter tyres. Popped in mid December to see about fittings my winter tyres, and was told no, after a conversation about how's it was never an issue before, the guy back tracked and said come back next week, but I was already leaving due to his poor attitude, which is a shame as these guys have been great in the past for me.
