Received the warmest welcome, and the almond croissants are a real treat. I will also be dreaming of their olives for the rest of my life

Great cheeses! Refill options for things like washing up liquid too which is amazing to have locally.

I Deliver here most weeks, all the staff are lovely and friendly. They have been kind enough to let me sample some fudge and croissants, which I highly recommend! They have a great range of zero waste refills and sustainable, ethical produce. Not to mention an amazing variety of cheese!!

The Gull's Grocery is open late-ish, on Edinburgh's popular Ferry Road, and is an LGBTQi+ community business. The zero-waste food and supplies shop is friendly and open, and Gull's Grocery improves the city. Tip: Need help with buying food today? There's a pay-it-forward board here with cash-value tickets; you take one, use it and buy your food. It's the community looking after one another and The Gull's team making it possible. As a zero-waste store, bring containers to scoop up tubs of rice, pasta, nuts, grain, and seeds. Before taking anything, weigh your tub. No packaging, no wasted food. The shop sells milk, bread, fruit, and baked goods like croissants. The Gull's also sells cleaning solutions, ethical foods and kitchen items. However, this is not a supermarket with rows of postcard-perfect food. Expect odd but charismatically shaped veggies or simply hard/out-of-season items not being there. I'd prefer this than commercial punishing deals with food suppliers as some big stores insist on. The Gull's has a rainbow flag and LGBT+ employees. It's dog- and pam-friendly, although the ground-level building has a tiny stair, so a wheelchair could need help. Watch for pop-up events, such as bake sales or free soup offers. Tip: Check social media. Instagram is where the Gulls post discounts like half-price bread or free bread if it's going to waste. The Gull's Grocery's hours make it convenient for anyone interested in community, zero waste, not fueling megacorps, or feeding humanity.

Awesome shop and I’m only nine years old (the best thing is the 100%chocolate) very yummy in my tummy. I give it a 1000000000000000 out of 10.

A fantastic addition to the neighbourhood! Has a wide range of dry and wet goods that you can buy without packaging and at very reasonable prices. I love that I can now bring bottles and tupperware from home and not have to come back with food wrapped in plastic that will go straight in the bin. There is also a small selection of bakery goods, locally sourced fresh produce and lots of vegan dry goods. Staff are really friendly and welcoming. Oh, and it's dog friendly!

Really lovely shop with lots of nice things - fresh produce, bakery, cupboard, household and other bits and bobs. Great value for money and friendly, helpful staff. So so happy we have something like this on Ferry Road now!
