I liked the texture of the noodles a lot! The chashu was way too thin, and I would expect a more generous amount of the chashu. The broth was a bit too salty imo, I did quite like the menma and the egg though. Having had a lot of authentic ramen in Japan, I think the ramen here is westernised but in a good way.

Food was mego tasty. Would definitely return again. The tantanramen broth was incredibly aromatic with lots of added depth and flavour. Really enjoyed my meal here. It is a little on the expensive side.

Came here last Friday, friendly & welcoming service, loved the menu, huge selection of veggie and vegan dishes and options. The mushroom Karaage and crispy aubergine were definitely the highlights for me. I hope they open a Brighton location someday!

The best Ramen we have ever had! So tasty, full of flavour and generally delicious. We also had the chicken and it was incredible. Staff were really friendly as well. Iβd agree they did bring the bill while I still had half my drink left, but didnβt rush us out at all.

Absolutely loved coming here and the staff were very friendly, welcoming and attentive. My daughter's choice for my first experience of Japanese Ramen noodles...cuisine was excellent!! My starter and meal was amazing and stunningly delicious! The staff were amazing, friendly and welcoming and the restaurant extremely funky too, you'd expect this in funky, cool and eclectic Bristol. I absolutely loved my first experience of Ramen and this restaurant is certainly one of the best serving Ramen cuisine! A big thank you to all the staff for such a great place, excellent food and a most enjoyable, memorable experience!! Highly recommended for Japanese Ramen and will be back again definitely when next in Bristol visiting my daughter...

Tomo no Ramen has set a new bar for ramen in Bristol. Their changing menu reflects the chef's pick of the best ingredients. And it's evident in the food. We had the Sapporo Miso ramen, Kare Miso ramen as well both oyster mushroom and chicken karaage. Miso-based ramen is perfect for the cold winter months and it felt like a warm embrace with each sip of the broth. The noodles themselves had the perfect bite and the chashu was delicious - I wish there was more of it! As for the karaage, the chicken was bursting with juice and the coating was crunchy. We had the pleasure of speaking to the head chef too. He sounded very passionate about his craft having spent time in Japan. Ordering & payment is via a QR code in your phone's browser. Vegan/vegetarian options are also available. We'll be back to try next season's menu and the desserts.

I came here on the final day of the pop up (it closed and I was sadly quite disappointed. I had heard great things about Tomo No Ramen so was excited to good, especially as Iβve followed Matsudai for a while. We got the chicken karaage, which was delicious and very juicy. We both then got a bowl of ramen - mine promised smoked mushroom and lots of deep flavour, but it was actually incredibly bland. Likewise, my partner ordered a spicy ramen and again just bland. We werenβt getting any of the punchy flavours described on the menu, and instead it just tasted like bland, generic ramen with weak broth. We had the chocolate and whisky tart for dessert which was delicious, albeit overpriced for such a small serving. All in all, the starters and desserts are all amazing. However, we were really disappointed with the ramen and almost asked for it to be removed from our bill (decided against this as it is a small business in difficult COVID times). I donβt know if we went on a bad day, or if, being people who eat a LOT of ramen in authentic Japanese restaurants, and make a lot of ramen from scratch, we maybe have higher standards than most people to whole good ramen is a novelty? I REALLY wanted to love Tomo No Ramen but we were both upset to have spent Β£15+ per bowl of ramen that we didnβt even want to finish. It may be worth noting that itβs a very small venue with tables very close together (some guests sharing benches). I understand this is for the communal Japanese ramen bar vibe, but I personally prefer a bit more privacy and it was a bit uncomfortable to be so compact with people during a COVID pandemic peak, so keep this in mind.
