Sophie MacLean did a fantastic job fixing my exposed teeth root problem perfectly. Even made them visually better too. Recommend her 100% for any tooth problem. Better than many dentists I've been to.
I recently had a dental implant procedure performed by Dr Kevin O'Farrell. Prior to the procedure, he explained everything which was involved and the cost. The placement of the implant was quick and I did not feel any discomfort. Both Dr O'Farrell, and his assistant Eva, were very re-assuring and put me at ease during the whole procedure. I would have no hesitation is recommending Dr O'Farrell and Eva of L & H Dental Care for anyone looking for a dental implant in the future.
I visited the practice on Tuesday 11-11-25 . 1 was so nervous I could hear my heart pounding , I must put a good word in for Dr Philip Redfern he has the patients of a saint he seems to calm me down I’m so scared I could stop going to the dentist . Plus I need to say a big thank you to the best hygienist Mary Balmer who also has the patients off a saint if it wasn’t for Mary I wouldn’t be able to keep going . Thank you both for keeping me calm and putting up with me panicking. Mary Smith .
Sophie MacLean is an excellent dentist who has always treated me very well. Erin is the dental nurse who has been involved in my treatments. Both of them are friendly and reassuring.
Managed to get a last-minute appointment for a dental checkup. The reception team was warm, professional, and welcoming. Dr. Redfearn was thorough, personable, and clearly very experienced. Highly recommend—spoken as a dentist myself.
Reception staff - majority very pleasant and helpful. Claire - avoid at all costs, dismissive and very unhelpful. Appointments- almost impossible to obtain, patients have to wait months and now the “ best practice” is only one consultation with your dentist a year down from 2. Due to an unrelated injury I was unable to travel and as I was unable to obtain appointments suffered tooth pain for 3/4 months only allocated an emergency appoint after advising I would leave. Crack in tooth discovered, advised to take high dose of painkiller not suitable due to health problem. Needless to say remained in constant pain. Forced after 21 years to source a new dentist, short wait for appointment and then root treatment and crown completed at an additional cost to myself. I emailed the practice to cancel all my families appointments and advise we were leaving to be met with “ I don’t know what you mean” - Claire! I was advised by reception staff to cancel my DD ( their dates don’t match collection dates) however L&H after all this decided to reinstate a DD and collect one further months payment. L&H certainly didn’t reimburse the cost of my treatment elsewhere! There is nothing in this review other than disappointing service. A lot of long term staff have either left or retired. Understand new dentists did not graduate because of covid and now the practice has recruited more dentist which should help with appointments. Overall a serious lack of customer care and service blamed on covid.
Fabulous professional practice! Dr Cooney is a highly qualified and excellent dentist and if you're looking for a hygienist you couldn't beat Elspeth! Highly recommended! If you're looking for a private dentist where you will be well cared for, this is it. They work tirelessly to improve their service and stay up to date with all new innovations.
My wife and I have been attending this practice for about 7 or 8 years now and I can honestly say that we have been thoroughly satisfied with every aspect,from the minute you enter the practice and are greeted by the extremely professional and helpful receptionists, until you leave,knowing you have been given dental care of the highest degree. Where else would your dentist sit you down and let you see,and then discuss with you,your dental x-rays,with a view to choosing the best possible treatment. I also think keeping the patients updated on events within the practice,via the televisions in the waiting area,is an excellent idea. It is very reassuring to know that the dentists and other staff are continually updating their qualifications,in order to provide the most modern techniques and practices. Thanks to Dr.O'Malley, Fiona and the hygienists for your 1st class care,and we look forward to visiting your new premises downstairs in the near future. John and Linda Hunter.
I have been using this practice for a good few years now. I CANNOT recommend them enough. From the moment you walk through the door you are welcomed by the friendly staff who always put you at your ease, even if you are slightly fearful about dentists. Nothing to worry about, the relaxed and professional atmosphere is reassuring. I have had a number of different procedures carried out on my teeth from cosmetic to repair and can safely say that I have never felt any pain. I see Dr Redfearn and his lovely assistant Michelle, who are always friendly and helpful when you are in the chair. A large screen in front of you shows you images of your teeth from earlier x-rays and photos and Dr Redfearn refers to it the images to discuss everything that has happened and everything that will be happening so there is no mystery involved. If you are wary of needles too, don't be. Dr Redfearn can somehow manage to inject without me feeling a thing. In fact I never even see nor feel the needle come to think of it!! If you are looking for a practice that is ultra modern, ultra professional, ultra friendly and leaves you smiling then go with this one. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
