   Lidl has a really impressive selection of products, and their own-brand items are genuinely great quality now — in many cases matching well-known brands while still being much cheaper. Prices are consistently good, and the overall value for money is one of the main reasons I keep going back. Customer service has generally been positive too, with staff usually helpful and efficient. The only real downside is the self-service area. They often have plenty of machines, but a few of them don’t work or are out of order, which means queues can build up and the wait ends up being longer than it should be. When everything is working, it’s brilliant, but when it isn’t, it can be a bit frustrating. Overall though, Lidl is a great place to shop with good prices, strong own-brand products, and generally reliable service — it just needs a bit more consistency with the checkouts.

   Great shop. Creative staff. One of the managers after picking up his little dogs poo - puts it in bag and leave in the back garden of my house. Amazing. When caught - with video footage ! he would simply say it wasn't him. Do it one more time sir, let your child do it one more time - your name will be mentioned here and video posted on social media. Enough is enough.

   I had a really positive experience at Lidl in Leith today. The gentleman at the checkout, who looked to be in his late 30s or 40s, was incredibly polite, friendly, and helpful. His great customer service made the shopping experience so much better, it’s not often you come across someone who genuinely makes an effort like that. Really appreciated it!

   I am extremely disappointed with the behavior of the staff at Lidl. During my visit at approximately 20:50, 30/12/2024 i encountered a staff member, a woman aged around 50-55, who was very rude and unprofessional. I paid in cash, but she accused me of not paying without verifying or checking properly. Despite my explanation, she did not return the £10 in cash that was rightfully mine. Her behavior was extremely disrespectful. When I raised the issue, the manager came, but instead of resolving the matter professionally, the manager also spoke to me in an unacceptable manner, accusing me of lying. If this is how customers are treated at Lidl, it raises serious concerns about the store’s approach to customer service. I request that this matter be investigated thoroughly.

   As I was paying at the self-service check out, the girl in charge of the section advised me that since I was spending over £ 15.00 I could get a fee Italian Pizza, which she promptly gave it to me. Great customer service! Super convenient for budget shoppers. Special mention to all cleaning products (from house cleaning to laundry detergents and conditioners) and the special offers aisle where you can find from gardening tools to running shoes at a knock out price. However, food and edible stuff quality could be rather mediocre, just remember you get what you pay for. Staff on site is always helpful and polite.

   Odd lady accusing me of taking a bite of one of my 2 doughnuts and then not wanting one of them at the till. This was due to the more realistic scenario of me discovering it had bite taken out of it by someone else. Because if I did take a bite of it, why wouldn't I want it? Otherwise pleasant shop. I feel bad for the lady if this is a common situation of people taking a bite and then not wanting it.

   The 'new' update they did makes no difference whatsoever, all they have done is moved some stock around, moved the bakery section further up, new self service tills and that's it, nothing special

   Nice shop. Staff are so friendly. They alway make time to speak to you. And soon as a bit of a queue start the have another till opened right away. Never been in a shop that all the staff are friendly.
