Well this is a sad place following its refurbishment. The bright and airy shopping area has been replaced with narrow, floor-to-ceiling aisles that run perpendicular to the only windows and so the shopping experience is dark and claustrophobic. The top section of the shelves seems taken up with boxed stock that hasn't been put out yet, which appears untidy and gloomy. Although there is apparently more shelf space, the quantity and (worse) the range of stock seems much diminished, particularly in basics such as bread. The replacement of (I assume) Co-Op baked goods with Stephen's Bakery fayre is a real shame. Again, both the range and quality of fresh pastries and breads has really suffered. The addition of a hot/sweets counter might be of interest to some but my experience, at various times of the day, is that it remains full of smelly, unhealthy, unappetising food while the pastries and bread section is empty by (this morning) 8.30am. Reading some of the other reviews here, I'd say the market research for this area really dropped the ball. The old Co-Op was really important to me and fulfilled it's function effectively and cheerfully. Now when it comes to short journeys out for basics I find myself trekking to Morrison's in Dedridge rather than using my local convenience store. The managers and designers who took away this Co-Op's attraction and utility, and forced it to march inline with the other sad Co-Ops in the area, have a lot to answer for. I've given this two stars because at least it's located in the right place but with such a clear drop in quality, it's all to win for the incoming U-Save.

Nice new store layout, but they've stopped the fresh bread they used to bake on site. Bring back our bread!

Amazing the range of goods they have in such a small store. You could just about do your weekly shop here. Fantastic fresh bakery too!
