   I visited Slate Hair for the first time after reading so many lovely reviews, so I was really looking forward to my appointment with James. I originally booked for a Tuesday, but the night before I was told it needed to be cancelled due to a back injury. I completely understood, rearranged my plans at work, and happily accepted a new appointment for Friday morning. The haircut itself was nice. My hair is very long, and I always appreciate the work that goes into it and I usually leave a nice tip because I understand it takes extra time. However, throughout the appointment, James kept making continuous comments and sighs about how long and thick my hair was. Also repeatedly looked at the clock. At first, I brushed it off, but as it went on, it made me start to feel quite uncomfortable, as though my hair was an inconvenience. When I booked it I booked a ladies wash hair and blow dry for long hair and it said it would take up to 1hr45 minutes. I was out in 1hr20 so I don’t understand why I was being made to feel like I was causing an issue. When it was finished, James told me that the system had charged me the wrong amount and that Fridays and Saturdays cost £10 more. I reminded him that the only reason I was there on a Friday was because he had cancelled my original Tuesday appointment, and I’d already prepaid the correct amount for that day. Despite this, I was still made to pay the additional £10 before I could leave. I was also charged an extra £5 for extra length, which I can understand however the extra fee for the day change felt unfair. I had already reorganised my work schedule to accommodate the cancellation, and had I known in advance that I’d be charged more simply for moving to the day they offered me, I would have chosen a different day. The lack of transparency and being charged extra because of a cancellation that wasn’t my fault has really put me off returning and I wanted to share my experience to warn others in case it happens to them too.

   Went to try this hairdressers out had family coming from Australia on the Saturday They let me down and cancelled appointment on Saturday morning i will not use this place again poor looking Salon inside maybe it was a good thing

   First hair cut with James today. It was a fantastic cut and blow dry. It was long overdue but James sorted out a perfect style for me. I won't leave it too long next time for a follow up appointment with him.

   First time visiting this lovely, modern, stylish, clean & tidy salon. Had a great experience. Jody first class stylist, very knowledgeable, quickly gained confidence in her skills, as she discussed what I was looking for. Sandra her glamorous assistant does a very professional wash and relaxing head massage. Although busy I was made welcome, everyone, including other clients very friendly. So pleased with cut & colour. First time in 20 years had to change my stylist because of house move. Already made my next appointment. Thanks for a fantastic service.

   Fabulous experience lovely shop Jodie spent time discussing my colour and how I could improve the condition of my hair really pleased with the colour and condition after only one visit.
