Lovely rooms and the service is definitely top quality. The hotel is in such a central location and easy access to all sides of Edingburgh. The only thing I would say is that the mattress is really bad. Been to many hotels ranging from 2 stars and upwards and this was the worst. I would suggest not putting a couple with an adjoining door to a next door room that has kids. I thought having booked the hotel 9 months in advance we would've had a bit of a better room. We got a room with a view of the street to the car park and the room definitely was for people who have a disability

Very comfortable stay. Reaching from Airport was very easy by tram. 15 mins walk to Railway station for return journey. Major landmarks within walking distance from Hotel. Reception staff very helpful in getting early checkin.. Could get food heated by Reception Staff.

Comfy room and very well located, but the best part is the hotel staff. Major shout-out to Adam, Irina, and Danilo — they made the stay even better and enhanced the experience in town. Good breakfast and easy access to the main attractions.

I recently stayed at this hotel and was very pleased with my experience. The room was spacious, clean, and well-equipped. The bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was modern and well-maintained. What really makes this hotel stand out is its central location, you’re just a few minutes’ walk from all the main attractions, restaurants, and shops. The staff were friendly and helpful, which made the stay even more enjoyable. Definitely recommended for anyone wanting to explore Edinburgh comfortably.

We had a fantastic stay at the Holiday Inn Express Edinburgh City Centre! The location was incredibly central, which made it so easy to explore the city on foot. It felt safe and lively, with tons of restaurants, shops, and sights just steps away. Our room was spacious and comfortable, which was such a pleasant surprise for a city hotel. It gave our family plenty of space to relax after busy days out. The breakfast was excellent—plenty of options, both hot and cold, and everything was fresh and well-stocked. It was the perfect way to start our mornings. The staff were so friendly and helpful!! What really made our stay extra special was how the staff helped celebrate our daughter’s birthday. They surprised her with a sweet birthday treat, and it meant so much to her—and to us! Overall, we felt really well taken care of and would absolutely stay here again. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a convenient, comfortable, and family-friendly place to stay in Edinburgh!

Really nice room and clean. Front office was providing friendly services, informative. Hotel and rooms were looking good and new. Shower was perfect. Internet broadband was perfect, very fast connection. Breakfast on 2nd floor was also good with various selection of tea. There's a bar on the lobby floor. From the outside, this hotel looks old - well just like the city - but modern once we get inside. Just across Saint James Quarter, nice shopping mall in the city and walking distance to Princes Street and Edinburgh Waverly station.

The Hotel Location was spot on... every attraction is walkable. There are numerous restaurants situated around the Hotel that was a very big plus. The hotel is an historic building and the rooms are well laid out. Features are excellent. Reception and Lobby is vastly spread out and excellent breakfast is served every day. I would like to specifically Thank Mr.Gordon Gibson for going above and beyond the expectations and proactively solving our issues even two months after our stay. Highly recommend the property and its employees.

Nice hotel very clean, rooms are spotless and big. We were in 421 and 419 nice view and very quiet. Same as other HI express hotels, but has everything you need. Good breakfast not vast but enough, fresh and plentiful. Staff all excellent nothing was a bother to them. Prices in the bar not cheap for what we bought but it was nice and peaceful so happy to use it. We were able to keep our bags in the bag store before we got into our rooms and after we checked out very handy. For a city centre hotel the price wasn't too bad. Good location and even better if you are at the playhouse. The only concerns I had was anyone could walk in at anytime and go to any floor without confrontation. For a busy area like this I would think hotel keys should be used to get past reception area. Plus they didn't check our tickets matched the bags we removed from the bag stores. But its a great central hotel with very helpful staff I would recommend and definately stay again.

The hotel on Picardy Place is well located for a few days in Edinburgh. Be aware that in front of the hotel, the extension of the tram line is ongoing. The rooms are absolutely adequate and surprisingly quiet at night! Breakfast is the same every morning but the choice is reasonable. The staff are mostly friendly and helpful. The room price is hefty but Edinburgh is a city popular with tourists - so bite your tongue and pay!

We loved this place! It was within walking distance of a lot of Edinburgh's main attractions. The rooms were a little small, but we didn't mind. The service was excellent and the breakfast was delicious. We wanted to make a special shout-out to the front desk worker, Arianna. We didn't realize the rooms wouldn't have a microwave, so she went above and beyond to make our dinner for us in the back kitchen and gave us an extra complimentary drink because only my husband got one. She was great! She provided such great guest service and it meant a lot. Thank you, Arianna!
