Absolutely awful service! I’ve made an appointment, received an I mail with a prove of my appointment a day before travelling, traveled 5 hours one way to get in to the Consulate and got NOTHING done because apparently they don’t have access to the documents I needed to get done! However, they still booked me in for the appointment that doesn’t seem to exist without even notifying about it. Staff was useless and unhelpful. A wasted day and I will be contacting the Ambassador concerning the awful service in the Ukrainian consulates because it’s not the first time this happened.

I must say, my personal experience was altogether rather splendid. I was there to sort out an international passport, and I dare say I was rather fortunate with the weather - waiting outside the entrance proved perfectly agreeable, unlike the unfortunate experiences some others have mentioned.
Regarding any perceived unresponsiveness or bureaucratic tendencies - I do feel compelled to point out, dear friends, that this isn't really down to the staff themselves, is it? The processes are governed at ministerial level through all diplomatic missions, and one can hardly hold the local team accountable for that sort of thing.
I would most respectfully suggest showing a bit of human understanding for what must be quite an exhausting workload. A touch of politeness (without going overboard into grovelling territory, naturally), staying on topic, and perhaps avoiding any heated political discussions - well, that's just good form, isn't it? Your standard British etiquette should see you through splendidly.
Do remember to confirm your appointment (twice or even thrice through the Diiya portal). One wouldn't want to arrive only to discover one's slot has vanished into the digital ether - the staff have no control over this, I'm afraid.
Oh, and bear in mind: registering with the consulate in Scotland whilst residing in England is simply not on (and vice versa).
All in all, armed with a bit of patience and good manners, you'll find the process perfectly manageable. The staff are doing their very best under challenging circumstances, and a kind word goes a long way.

Absolutely ignorant place.
All visitors stay outside in the rain in front of a shut door. The main website doesn’t have any information about appointments which are mandatory. There are no links to make one.
In order to attend the appointment, you need to authorise your identity through the Ukrainian application or Ukrainian online banking. If a Ukrainian citizen, who lives in the UK for a long time is unable to authorise their id - there is no way to go in , ask any questions or get hold of anyone on the telephone number provided on the website of the consulate. We’ve driven over 400 miles in one day for nothing!

Why nobody answering phone calls ,no replies to emails ? I never imagined huge bureaucracy issues within this consular office.
I live in Scotland, and i honestly want to understand the consulate problem for not answering phones and emails.I got question about Ukraine ("D" type national visa).
Sounds like Ukrainian nationals treated in much better way than british nationals.

Due to endless queues and without guarantees of being seen in London at Ukrainian Embassy , my partner went to Edinburg as he heard of efficiency of service. He arrived on Monday morning, where he found out that it was their days off. Upset he sat down and didn't know what to do, when by surprise the consul Mr Andrii Kuslii walked in. Soon he was sitting in his office and helped out my partner with documents. I would like to thank consul for his service, he went out of his way, on his day off and helped out my partner. I would love to have such an amazing service in London, and it's sad that to get this brilliant service we have to drive miles away. All the success to Mr Andrii Kuslii.
