   A comedy of errors from start to finish—Avoid. I wish I could say my experience with James Erskine was just a one-off mistake, but it was a relentless series of blunders. We ordered four sets of curtains, and it felt like we were doing their jobs for them. We had to triple-check their invoices and caught measurement errors twice before they even started. Then came the delays—apparently, they ran out of the fabric we had already ordered. When the installer finally arrived, he removed our perfectly good rail and replaced it with a new one, only to realise they were one short. It took three weeks just to fix that. To top it off, the rail was installed at the wrong height. When they moved it, they damaged our woodwork and offered zero apologies. If you value your time and your sanity, go elsewhere.

   Outstanding service, Colin and the team went above and beyond helping me to source my carpet and doing a fantastic and very efficient installation. It was very economical too as they kept things that were reusable from the previous carpet fitting. Also great touches like receiving a thank you card in the post and a bottle of bubbly to celebrate my new carpet when they arrived to do the job. Our living room feels transformed.    UPDATE AT THE BOTTOM We are looking to get flooring done throughout the entire house so I went in to ask about options and to get a quote. I was looking for LVT specifically, and the lady told me they stock Amore and said I could look at the selection in the shop window if I wanted. She didn't offer to show me the samples or talk me through the options, and didn't seem to know they stocked other LVT brands. I would expect sales staff to be helpful, and knowledgeable about their products, so this was very off-putting. You'd also think sales staff would be helpful if someone mentioned they are moving to a new house, because the customer might need other services and products, such as curtains and rugs. Oh well. I still asked if I should email them to get a quote or how that works, and she said email would be fine, but didn't give me their email address or a business card. UPDATE: Hi Norman, I appreciate your apology and response to my review. I decided to get in touch with the store again to arrange for a quote. I have now waited for over a week and haven't heard back. If there is a communication issue, it's not on my end. The other businesses I contacted at the same time all got back to me.

   I love this store, they've fitted my new flat with new curtains and the processes was great from the moment i call, to coming and do the measures and up to the day they came and fit them. the staff is helpful, and really go the extra mile, totally will use there services again and recommend them to family and friends.
