My husband Thomas was cared for in the last weeks of his life, not only did the staff make him comfortable, they went way beyond that, as a family we can’t thank senior charge nurse Jackie Little and her staff enough for their kindness and understanding at such a devastating time Thomas had a long fight and he was cared for by district nurses and staff from Marie Curie, who were lovely, but Jackie and her team brought us all so much comfort As a family we will always remember their kindness The Higgins Family

Employees from Ellen's glen house during their break come to smoke in carnbee estate park (no problem with it) leaving all litter and cigarette waste behind. Neighbours have approached employees asking them to avoid this behaviour but so far there has not been any improvement. Hopefully Ellen's glen house management takes some actions. Update May 1st , NHS staff smoking in carnbee park and leaving litter behind, unacceptable!!

I've no idea why there is bad reviews on here. My mother in law has just passed away under the fabulous care of the team at Ellen's Glen. We cannot thank the staff enough for there care and love taken looking after her and the family.

My father spent the last 3 months of his life here. It is impossible to praise the staff of Ellen's Glen House highly enough. This is a lovely hospital situated in a beautiful little park with the most wonderful, kind and caring staff at every level of the operation.

I find it quite surprising to read the earlier reviews. Our mother was admitted in January 2019 and during her 3 month stay she received exemplary care, compassion and professionalism from ALL the staff at Ellen’s Glen House. Their kindness was also extended to her family during difficult days – time and a listening ear were never too much trouble for the nurses and doctors. If I could give them more than 5 stars I would.

My father was sadly admitted here due to his wife being ill I’m hospital. He has advanced dementia and Parkinson’s disease. On arriving he was as healthy as he can be at this stage - 3 days later he was dehydrated and not expected to last the night. Most staff were uncaring simply putting drinks in front of him when he is unable to administer drinks himself. He did not get fed a meal on one occasion as he was “missed”. Staff shouting and arguing outside his door as our family all waited around his bedside not knowing if he would live. Drugs trollies left open and unattended - demotivated staff who aslways seemed to be on their first day. A staff nurse lacking in any form of compassion or awareness of what is going on on her ward. Some staff telling us how much they hated working there and were there for free parking only. Needs a complete change of staff and some proper management structure and patient care. I wonder how many deaths here are pit down to old age when actually it’s lack of care. I urge anyone to use any other respite care available other than this place. Looks beautiful but staff (not all but most and most certainly they staff nurse) let it down.
