Wonderful care and compassion from start to finish. The doctors, nurses, and staff were incredibly kind and patient with my niece. We felt supported and informed every step of the way.

What a total excellent surprise! Here on vacation for a week, kid has prolonged G.I. issues. Went to hospital, no wait whatsoever, immediately seen by a nurse and then a very kind doctor (Julia?), very thorough check up. They didn’t even want to see the European Health Card. And on top of that, even the parking was free. Quite contrary to everything you read about the NHS. This is what healthcare should be like everywhere!

We had a wonderful experience at the Royal Hospital for Children and Young People in Edinburgh. Our son was unwell during our trip, and the care we received was outstanding. Special thanks to Dr. Connor, Dr. Katie, and the amazing nurses—they were kind, professional, and truly compassionate. We’re so grateful for the NHS and the incredible staff here. Thank you for taking such great care of our little one!

My child waited almost 4 hours just to be seen by Doctor 10 mins. We’ve been left in the empty hallway because of long waiting. Took my son to Paediatric Emergency yesterday, we was sent by my GP doctor with a letter, at first we been seen by the nurses and they sent us to other room for waiting. The waiting was unbearable, we’ve been waiting there since 3:30PM and not seen by the doctor until 7PM. We would have been waiting longer if we did not say anything. Most of the patients had been seen before us. I know how busy and hectic in the hospital they take in more severe cases which is understandable but they seem to ignore us because my son is not at risk?? Or is it how we look?? Imagine your child is in pain suffering unknown diseases how worried you must have been. We felt this is discrimination and had been treated differently. Before we go in other room to been seen by the students and nurses, one the staff asked if be had been assigned by any nurses obviously NOT, this is unacceptable waited almost 4 hours at Children hospital. I’m grateful for their supports but we still don’t know what is wrong with my son they’ve check his blood pressure, breathing, sugar level and other stuff. Everything seems to be normal I can only assumed he’s having a flu. The equipment for checking blood pressure and temperature is unhygienic the cable was left dragging down and almost hit the floor, little wee sticky thing had been used many times and use that for my child I felt uncomfortable, they don’t have proper cover or plaster for my little one after they checked his blood sugar level. I’m writing this because we were unsatisfied with most things at the hospital and much appreciated if they can improved the NHS systems I might not understand how the system works and how hard everyone there trying to get everyone done. Please change something or do something about this. Thank You.

The staffs were all lovely and made my son feels a bit less worried about staying at a hospital. All the services we received are also quick. We feel like we’re being taken care of. There were also plenty of toys available, and my son could also choose his own meal. It sure is a great and child-friendly hospital. Thank you for the help!! The only thing I think needs to be improved from this place is the signage. We were to visit a GP on a Sunday and spent 25 minutes looking for the right room.

Kids dentistry department - just another NHS butchery with no professionalism at all. Dental treatment in style "let's pull out as much deciduous teeth as possible that young patient will not bother us any time soon,no matter if teeth are fixable or not".Everything in rush, no x-ray, no consultation with parents or effort to fix the teeth because fillings are more expensive and more time consuming to make, especially when waiting list counts more than 500 heads that's why everything goes like on an assembly line. No time or effort for saving smile of our little ones or any kind of empathy to imagine to be what's the quality of life of the little one without number of teeth will be, not mention problem with consumption of solid food ect. Dear parents be careful what a papers you'll sign next time. Let's open windows and clap for those heroes again and let's raise their wages even more, because 100k+ salary isn't motivational enough to make decent job...

I cannot thank the neurosurgeons, oncologists, oncology team, speech & language, physiotherapists, doctors, nurses and anyone who helped save my grandsons life when he was diagnosed with a brain tumour back in 2018. He was 11 months old and is now 4 years old. He’s absolutely amazing and thriving more and more everyday. This hospital is amazing and the care they provide is fantastic.
